Providence Church

Providence Church Making and forming disciples of Jesus with the goal to live all of life with the presence of God.

If the ultimate purpose of God is to receive glory through a broken world being brought to renewal, then the church’s mission is to proclaim the glory of God to bring renewal to the world’s brokenness. Biblically and historically we find that church planting is one of the most effective ways to engage new neighborhoods, regions and people groups with the gospel. Therefore, we propose Providence Ch

urch as a church devoted to making and sending disciples locally and globally to plant churches for the glory of God, the exaltation of Jesus, the redemption of the lost, and the renewal of the broken. “We have the spirit of God inside of us helping us walk out the will of God in our lives.” AMEN and AMEN and AMEN! 🙌

What we have today is greater than what the Israelites had. We have the spirit of God WITH us. Providence, how amazing is that?! The spirit of God is leading us and guiding us all because of Jesus fulfilling covenant obedience on our behalf.

Have you ever wondered why Moses threw down and broke the 10 Commandments? We can wonder, was he just angry…? Like, was it a fit of anger that he had? 🤔💭

Remember, the 10 Commandments are a summary of the stipulations of covenant agreement. Moses was symbolizing the covenant was over. They were no longer in convent with God.

And YET God graciously rewrites the covenant. He graciously chooses to be back in relationship with His people.

So, Moses throwing down the 10 commandments isn’t a random footnote. It’s showing how the Israelites no longer received the covenant promises of God, highlighting the severity of their sin and also the grace of God to rewrite the covenant with them.

“Our City Group held a Backyard Worship Night to cap off our summer schedule. We have so many talented musicians in the group that organized, played, and led us in worship. We were able to hear about a group member’s upcoming vision trip overseas and another member’s serious health condition and pray over both of them. It was just an amazing night of everyone (including our kids!) coming together and worshipping the Lord and thanking Him for His goodness!”

🥺😭♥️ Ugh, we love this so much! So fun to see how the 6:2 City Group is using the God-given talents of its members and teaching the next generation to love and serve the Lord in community!! Thanks for this sweet story, Brigette Pettepier

“I do think that the more you know the scriptures, the more you know God, and the more you live in the ways he’s called us to.”

Oof! Keep watching even when the screen goes dark because this is the heart of our current Sunday series on covenants! We want you to have a desire and intrigue in reading scripture, and growing that desire starts with understanding the foundations of our faith. We want to focus not on what we do, but who God is and what He has promised.

“The graphic for this series has the trinitarian symbol with a couple icons that represent some of the covenants God has made with his people.

The top icon is the ark on a mountain with a rainbow around it to represent the covenant God made with Noah and creation. In the bottom left, we have stars to represent the covenant made with Abraham. In the bottom left, we have the tablets of commandments with waves of water being opened to represent the promise made with Moses and Israel.

Our series starts with understanding that our Trinitarian God has always been a Covenant God, so I combined the symbol for the Trinity and symbols of different covenants to try and display that God has always been a Covenant God.”

Our music and arts director created this graphic for the series. 🙌🎉 Steve, thank you for the time, thought, and prayer you put into this graphic!
