Deacon Doug Lenz’s homily reflected on what truly matters at the end of life, inviting the congregation to consider the final words they would want to share with the people they love. He shared the story of his late father-in-law, whose brief final note focused not on worldly concerns, but on love, faith in God’s goodness, the emptiness of worldly pursuits, and gratitude for his family. Ultimately, he encouraged everyone to honor God by caring well for themselves and for the people placed in their lives.
