Please join our Midtown Catholic parish family in lifting up Father Pietramale in prayer. 🙏

We ask the Lord to surround him with His healing presence, grant him strength and comfort, and bless him with a speedy and complete recovery.

May Father Pietramale feel the love, prayers and support of our entire Catholic community during this time.

Oh, St. John Paul, from the window of heaven, grant us your blessing! Bless the Church that you loved and served and guided, courageously leading her along the paths of the world in order to bring Jesus to everyone and everyone to Jesus. Bless the young, who were your great passion. Help them dream again, help them look up to the heavens again to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here on earth.
Amen.

Today we celebrate the Feast of the North American Martyrs, eight Jesuit missionaries who gave their lives while sharing the Gospel in North America during the 17th century.

Among them were St. Isaac Jogues, St. John de Brébeuf and their companions, who endured tremendous hardship, persecution and danger, yet remained steadfast in their faith and their mission.

In Christian art, martyrs are often depicted with a palm branch, symbolizing their victory through faith and sacrifice, and a laurel crown, representing the eternal reward of those who remain faithful to Christ. These symbols remind us that while the martyrs suffered greatly in this life, their ultimate victory was found in Christ.

Most of us will never face the challenges these Saints endured, but we are all called to be courageous witnesses to our faith through our words, actions, and love for others.

Holy North American Martyrs, pray for us and give us the courage to remain faithful to Christ!

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Teresa of Ávila, a Doctor of the Church who reminds us that prayer is not simply something we do, but a relationship we nurture with God. 🙏

St. Teresa taught that prayer is spending time with the One who loves us. She understood that growing closer to Christ doesn't require perfect words or elaborate prayers. It begins with making time for Him and opening our hearts to His presence.

In the midst of busy schedules, family responsibilities and the many demands of daily life, her example encourages us to make prayer a priority.

Perhaps today is a good day to spend a few extra minutes in quiet conversation with God.

St. Teresa of Ávila, pray for us! ❤️
