Exodus is the record one of the greatest miracles to the Jews. Outside of the Pentateuch it is referenced more than 50 times, in 2/3 of the OT books and in seven of the New Testament. It is the most significant event in the OT, except of Creation and the Abrahamic Covenant. It is also includes the subsequent event, which is the giving of the Law, which is the foundation of Israel and the world through the Crucifixion Gal 3:19-25). Jesus a very significant part of the Law as he adhered to it during his life, fulfilled, then ended that legal covenant by his death and resurrection (Lk 22:20; Rom 10:4; Gal 3:23-24; Eph 2:15; Col 2:14).

Being a Christian is not just believing and trying to live good. A Christian needs the Spirit God gave them at salvation to empower them for God's work: transforming the believer to the image of Christ, building the believers, and impacting the world for Christ.

Our series looks at Who the Spirit is, what the Spirit does, and the believers relationship with the Spirit.

It is understood and applied so many different ways - loving pizza, loving your dog, loving your spouse, loving your neighbor. It is desired, felt, and given.

God calls us to love Him - which often is practiced as "just don't tick Him off by doing something really bad." This Sunday, re-think what it means to love, to love God affecting your love for others.
