St. Luke United Methodist Church, Omaha

St. Luke United Methodist Church, Omaha We seek to live purposefully, grow in faith, and serve God and our community. We offer two distinct worship services on Sunday Mornings. At St. St.

We embrace people of all races, ages, cultures, religious backgrounds, marital/social/economic status, physical/mental abilities, sexual orientation and gender identities. Both services include a time to ask any "God question" on your mind. Our Casual Service is at 9:00 AM in the Great Room. This service features a more relaxed environment, a limited liturgy, and a very lively energy level...and o

f course plenty of coffee and donuts at every table. Our Liturgical Service is at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary. This service features liturgy, congregational singing, an outstanding Choir and Bell Choir, and occassional instrumental music. Coffee and donuts are provided before and after worship

Our congregation offers a wide array of opportunities for persons of all ages to become involved. Luke, worship and preaching relates the timeless truths of the scriptures to our lives with integrity. Service opportunities for adults and excellent programs for children and youth are overseen by experienced staff and numerous adult volunteers. Luke has a distinct tradition of exploring the Bible, theological concepts, and Christian discipleship in a manner that fully engages present day insights and scholarship in our journeying together with God. We believe a strong faith is one that allows for critical thinking and at the same time engages us in mission and ministry to the world. Luke we celebrate our diversity and open our doors to all persons. Our congregation is comprised of members from different backgrounds and belief traditions. Together we seek to be a church with "open hearts, open minds, and open doors."

A/V Volunteers Needed for Sunday Morning Sound Booth

We are looking for volunteers to grow our A/V team in the sound booth on Sunday mornings—we would like to have a team of 10 so that we can have a schedule for people to serve one or two times a month. This size team will also allow us to minimize and evenly distribute the tasks for each individual.

Opportunities are available for A/V volunteers for either or both worship services in June (but for just the one 9:30 service when we switch to combined worship beginning July 5).

Training Provided:
No technical experience is necessary. We will provide training, and step-by-step documentation will always be available in the A/V booth for reference.

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Marissa at [email protected] or 402-333-6886 ext. 300.

We’ve got a two-for-one this weekend—two chances to connect, have fun, and spend time with some truly awesome St. Luke people! We’d love to see you at one (or both!) of these opportunities.

Saturday, June 6 | 8:00–11:30 a.m.
Join us in serving at the All People's Pantry at Hanscom Park United Methodist Church (4444 Frances Street). They are expecting approximately 400 guests, so we need as many St. Luke volunteers as possible to help make the morning a success. Many hands make light work, and your presence can make a real difference!

Sunday, June 7 | 3:00–8:00 p.m.
Come to St. Luke’s upper parking lot for a good old-fashioned Tailgate Party! Food and drinks will be provided as we gather to watch one of the final games that will send a team to Omaha for the College World Series. (We will ask for a free-will offering to help cover food and beverage costs.)

Whether you're serving, tailgating or both, we hope you'll join us for a great weekend of fellowship and fun!

St. Luke Tailgate Party: This Sunday, June 7!

The Faith in Action team will be hosting a St. Luke Tailgate Party this Sunday, June 7 at 3:00pm in St. Luke’s upper bell tower parking lot. Come join us for food, drinks (did you know nonalcoholic beer is a thing now?), fun and more. We will be watching one of the final games that will send a team to Omaha for the College World Series. You don't need to bring any food or drinks, but we will take a free-will offering to cover the costs.

A thank you message from Together:

"On behalf of our organization, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of hygiene supplies and Ziploc bags. Your timing could not have been better, as we had completely run out of all hygiene items and bags. Thanks to your kindness and support, we were able to assemble much-needed hygiene kits and walker bags for the individuals we serve. These supplies will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people in our community.

"We are deeply grateful for your generosity and your commitment to helping others. Partnerships like yours allow us to continue providing essential resources to those who need them most.
Thank you again for your thoughtful donation and for making a positive impact in our community."

Small Group Spotlight: Bistro Group

The Bistro Group is a group of individuals who love cooking, eating and fellowship. Our goal is to cook meals for special church gatherings and to promote potlucks and other church events where food is served. Breaking bread together is an act of Christian love inside the St. Luke family and in community outreach. We welcome others who enjoy cooking, eating and fellowship to join this group!
