National Donut Day is almost here! This Friday, June 5, we celebrate a tradition that began with The Salvation Army’s "Donut Lassies" -- who served fresh donuts and provided encouragement to American troops on the front lines during World War I.

Now, over a century later, National Donut Day continues as a way to honor veterans and first responders -- whose service strengthens our communities every day.
