What a week at Vacation Bible School ☀️ We made friends, we learned about how we can trust God, and we had a LOT of fun!

We have had so much fun on day 3 learning how to trust Jesus in a world that can be very wild! Yesterday we learned that when we feel helpless, we can trust in Jesus’ strength.
Our “sticky scripture” that we want to “stick” to our brain is “Take heart, it is I, do not be afraid.” (Matthew 14:27)

Last week, all Religious Education students in k-8 attended stations of cross, followed by a relay competition again Father Matthew—a reward for reaching our fundraising goal for the parish Dinner & Auction. It was Father Matthew vs. the students and the students won four times!! Thanks to Father Mathew for being such a great sport and for coming!

Our last day of SCUBA VBS was filled with song, scripture, and games for over 150 children. We hope each child had oceans of fun while learning about our Lord’s love for all. We must extend a special thank you to the 75 volunteers who make this week possible!!! From the adults who run the stations to the teens who lead the crews—thank you for sharing the love of God with these children! Thank you also to our many parishioners who donated supplies and snacks. We are so blessed to be part of the amazing St. Stephen’s family—“Thanks God!”

Thursday was a splash-tastic day of fun at SCUBA Vacation Bible School! We praised God for sending His Son Jesus Christ to lead us to Heaven, and for all the way He shares His love along the way! We learned that God’s friendship is FOREVER! —“Thanks God!”

Today at SSM Vacation Bible School, we learned about how much God loves us, and how we are called to share his love with others. We went with Jonah into the dark belly of a big fish when he refused to share God‘s love with the people of Ninevah. God’s love is to be shared with everyone, just as His Son Jesus Christ shared God’s love with all of US! Because “God is a friend who loves us” – “Thanks God!”

Do you have children that need volunteer hours for Confirmation, National Honor Society, or school classes? Vacation Bible School is a fun way to earn those hours and provide stewardship to the parish. We are still needing crew leaders and station helpers. Volunteers can earn up to 18 hours for the week. Volunteers will get a t-shirt, daily snack, and a pizza lunch at the end of the week. Sign up as soon as possible! VBS is in just a few weeks: June 10-14.
