BE Like HIM - Image and Likeness
Mankind was created in the image and likeness of God. God's expectation from the very beginning was for mankind to be like Him. Before the Lord told humanity to rule, be fruitful and multiply, fill, and subdue the earth, the mandate was for man to be like Him. In Genesis 1:26, God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;” An image is a copy, representation, and resemblance. Likeness is a transference of detail and making one pattern look like another.
Scripture Meditation 📖
1 John 4:17 AMP In this union and fellowship with Him, love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment with assurance and boldness to face Him; because as He is, so are we in this world.
That is a powerful statement, as He is, so are we in this world. What a proclamation!
Matthew 5:48 AMP You, therefore, will be perfect growing into spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into your daily life, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Prayer for Today 🙏
Father, I know that You would never command us to do something that was not achievable. We can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Your grace is sufficient. I decree and declare that I will continually offer myself to the commands of Your will. Sin leads to death but obedience leads to righteousness. I will be obedient with all my heart to the standard of teaching in which I have been instructed through the Word and by Your voice. I have been set free from sin and have conformed to Your will and purpose. Lord, I desire to be like Your son. As Christ was selfless and put others before Himself, I desire to give myself away to be a vessel You can use. I have a burden for others as Christ had a burden for mankind.
As Christ loves, I desire to love.
As Christ gives, I desire within my heart to give.
As Christ serves, I desire to serve.
I am no longer doing things as a child, tossed here and there by every wind of doctrine. I am rooted and grounded in the things of God and becoming more like Christ daily. I decree and declare the I will grow up in all aspects of Christ who is the head of my life. I will not conform but be transformed by the renewing of my mind. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
DECLARE with Me 🗣️
I declare that I was created in the image and likeness of God, and I will reflect His nature in the earth.
I declare that my mind is being renewed daily, and I am becoming more like Christ in every area of my life.
I declare that I will walk in obedience, maturity, wisdom, and righteousness according to the Word of God.
I declare that every distraction, every idle thought, and every carnal desire is falling away from me in this season.
I declare that the love of Christ flows through me, and I will serve, give, and love with a pure heart.
I declare that I am rooted and grounded in truth, and no wind of doctrine, opinion, or deception will move me from the will of God.
I declare that I carry the character, love, and authority of Christ everywhere I go. I will forgive as He has forgiven me.
I declare that my life will be a reflection of Christ in the earth. I am an image bearer!
