Faith formation friends....this matters!
On March 21, 2025, the ELCA released a draft social message on child protection and maltreatment, responding to a request from the 2022 Churchwide Assembly. Churchwide staff from Youth Ministry and Theological Ethics invite you to attend online hearings for children, youth, and family ministers to share feedback on the draft message.
Hearings will be held on:
- Thursday, May 15, 7:30-9:00 pm Eastern
- Tuesday, May 20, 12-1:30 pm Eastern

Hi everyone, a reminder that if you serve a role in children, youth or family ministry or faith formation in your congregation you are invited to the Extravaganza. Extravaganza takes place January 23-26 in Louisville, KY. We have a good sized group from Nebraska planning to attend but would love to have more. Please join us!

Extravaganza is a four day in-person and online event for ELCA congregational leaders in children's, youth, young adult and outdoor ministry.

Hi everyone! If you (and your youth) would like to have a synod day t-shirt for the gathering, you need to order them by June 27. This will ensure that they are delivered to you before the gathering. Remember, no Nebraska Synod shirts will be for sale at the gathering!

Join other youth leaders across the country for SYMBOL's second monthly forum, taking place on Tuesday, April 2 at 12:00 Noon EASTERN, 11:00 AM CENTRAL, and 9:00 AM PACIFIC. We are grateful to have both Anthony Briggs and Jamie Bruesehoff as April’s special guests, who will facilitate discussion on "Principles, Policies, and Practices for Ministry with LGBTQ+ Youth". This is NOT just limited to SYMBOL members, but is open to all who work with youth.

Too many of us "passed" confirmation, got to have a party with gifts, made grandma happy and decided we were done learning about the church, Bible and faith because after all we were not going to become pastors. We "graduated". ---- But one is never done learning!! So here's the deal ---- Emmaus: Lifelong Learning is bringing learning opportunities for adults into the church. Check out the opportunities. Invite a friend, church committee or leader to sign up for a course with you! No long term commitment is required. No test or grade. Emmaus is aimed at providing ah-ha moments like what happened to the two on the road to Emmaus so many years ago. Watch for postings on summer and fall courses coming soon.
