Let us remain steadfast in prayer for our sisters and brothers over at the Catholic Diocese of Spokane

In the midst of unimaginable loss, this image speaks without words.

The fires may consume homes and forests, but it cannot consume faith, hope, or the love that binds a community together.

Please continue to pray for all who have lost homes, for those forced to evacuate, and for every firefighter, law enforcement officer, emergency personnel, and volunteer serving our region.

Our prayers must always become action. Faith calls us not only to pray for our neighbors but to care for them.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. πŸ™

Prayers for Carlos and his family

On Sunday, July 26, a shooting broke out during the Bite of Seattle festival at Seattle Center. Gunfire erupted amid a crowd of families and festival-goers, prompting a chaotic evacuation. Three people lost their lives, and four others were injured, including a young child.

πŸ’” We're sad to share that one of those we lost was Carlos, a parishioner of St. Columban Catholic Church, Yelm and a member of South Sound Deanery family.

Please join us in praying for the peaceful repose of Carlos' soul, and for God's comfort and strength for his wife Sandra and their three children in the days ahead.

St. Columban has asked for privacy for the family right now, and we want to honor that. If you'd like to support them, you can do so by visiting the link the comments

πŸ™ May Carlos rest in the peace of Christ, and may his family feel the love of our whole Catholic community holding them up.

⚠️ Heads up, parish family, don't get reeled in! 🎣 ⚠️

Can you tell which parish priest this is? Neither can we. So don't take the bait.

Scammers are impersonating our priests (Fr. John-Patrick, Fr. Simon, Fr. Mamba, and even Fr. Chad) through email and text messages asking for gift cards or money. Here's how to protect yourself:

🚫 Our priests will never ask you for gift cards, money, or personal info via email or text.

βœ… Legitimate communication from Saint Michael Parish will always come from an .org email address.

πŸ—‘οΈ Don't reply, don't click links, and don't send gift card codes if something feels off.

If you've received one of these messages, mark it as spam and please let us know so we can help keep the community informed.

Thank you for helping us look out for one another. Stay safe! πŸ™

πŸŽ† Happy 250th Birthday, America β€” and God Bless Her. πŸŽ†

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a nation was born, anchored in the God who made us "all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights."

This year, the U.S. bishops consecrated our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. And just yesterday, Pope Leo XIV (a son of this nation ) accepted the Liberty Medal in Philadelphia, praying that America's founding ideals "continue to guide the flourishing of the nation in unity, justice and peace."

Fittingly, this year's National Eucharistic Pilgrimage travels under the patronage of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini β€” America's first canonized saint, and an immigrant who gave her life to those on the margins. She once wrote: "The world is only a small ball for the Missionary Sisters. See how the Infant Savior holds it in His hands."

That is the heart of America at its best β€” a people who know this nation is held in the hands of God.

πŸ™ Lord, through the intercession of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, may this land always be a home for the stranger, a refuge for the vulnerable, and a beacon of truth. Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Your Son, may America seek not only liberty, but the One who is Liberty. Amen.

Happy Fourth of July from your Parish Family of Saints Michael and Edward Parishes. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

πŸ•ŠοΈ Ad Multos Annos, Fr. John-Patrick, Fr. Chad & Fr. Josh!

Four years ago today, three men laid themselves prostrate before the altar and said yes β€” to God, to His people, to a lifetime of servant priesthood. The Parish Family of Saint Michael & St. Edward and the Bremerton Family of Our Lady Star of the Sea & Holy Trinity, and the whole Church are grateful for your yes!

The archbishop who ordained them said it best:
"The people have many expectations of their priests … but the one thing they must know is that their priest knows Jesus." Fathers John-Patrick, Chad, and Josh β€” you have shown us, again and again, that you know Him.

πŸ™ Join us in prayer on this anniversary:
Lord Jesus, Good Shepherd,
we thank you for the gift of Fr. John-Patrick, Fr. Chad, and Fr. Josh β€”
for their faithful hearts, their priestly hands,
and their courageous "yes" to Your call.
Strengthen them in holiness.
Renew in them the grace of their ordination.
And may they shepherd Your people
with the love and mercy of Your own Sacred Heart.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for them.
Amen. 🀍

Ad multos annos to many more years of holy priesthood. πŸ™βœοΈ

πŸ™ Praise be to God! πŸ™

On June 6, 2026, the Archdiocese of Seattle welcomed two new priests: Fr. Simon Stehr and Fr. Damian-Joseph Rappuhn, OSB.

One of the most beautiful visible signs of ordination: the stole. A deacon wears it over the left shoulder, crossed at the body, resting at the right hip. At the moment of ordination, it moves β€” straight down from both shoulders. From the left to the right. A simple shift of cloth that carries the weight of a lifetime's yes. ✝️

"The deeper your bond with Christ, the more radical your belonging to all of humanity."

Please keep Fr. Simon and Fr. Damian-Joseph in your prayers as their priestly ministry begins!

Ad multos annos! 🎊πŸ”₯πŸ™Œ

What is God calling us to become?

On Wednesday, Fr. John-Patrick DePalma gathered our Saint Michael Parish community for our State of the Parish event β€” No One Walks Alone β€” a night of prayer, vision, witness, and Eucharistic Adoration.

Rooted in our mission to Place God First in All Things, we are committed that every person shall be seen, supported, and accompanied in love β€” and come to a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ.

Hear from our leaders on Pastoral Care, Liturgy & Prayer, Faith Formation, School Ministry, and Facilities β€” along with a deeply moving witness talk and Eucharistic Benediction.
