Sometimes we make discipleship feel more complicated than it really is.

It may not start with a Bible study, a ministry position, or having all the right answers. Sometimes it starts with a conversation over coffee. A phone call. An invitation. Sitting with someone and listening to their story. Opening the Bible together and simply saying, “Let’s figure this out together.”

Someone once took the time to do that for you. Someone encouraged you, prayed for you, walked with you, and helped you take another step toward Jesus.

Now maybe it’s your turn.

Look around at the people God has already placed in your life. There may be someone who doesn’t need another program. They just need someone willing to walk with them.

Who is your someone that God is inviting you to disciple?

Don’t miss the person Jesus may already be putting in front of you.

Recently FMCUSA prayer leaders gathered to pray for the church. The Holy Spirit was powerfully present among them and inspired the words that were offered up in prayer. As hearts were poured out to the Lord of the Church, notes were taken regarding the themes of their prayers. Those themes are the topics for this 28 Days of Prayer we’re calling “Seeking Together…Prayers for the Church.” Join the many who will accept the call to pray every day through video prompts and prayers.

Jesus didn't just tell us to love people. He showed us what that love looks like.

Sometimes loving like Jesus means moving toward someone instead of pulling away. Sometimes it means serving, forgiving, making room, or simply noticing someone who might otherwise be overlooked.

And sometimes it means choosing not to give up on someone. Jesus doesn't define us by our worst moments or our past, and He calls us to extend that same grace to others.

So here's the question I'm carrying with me this week:

What would it look like for you to love like Jesus?

Maybe it's a conversation you need to have, someone you need to forgive, or simply someone you need to see a little differently.

Let's not just admire the way Jesus loved. Let's follow Him in it.
