Yesterday we said goodbye to someone who has been an important part of our team, and today we have the opportunity to welcome someone new. We’re grateful for Jacqueline Gober and all she means to us all, and we’re super excited to welcome Meghan Austin as she begins this new journey with us. We’re looking forward to getting to know her and seeing how God uses her here at the Refuge.
When we found out Jacqueline was leaving months ago, we began to pray. Meghan was one of the first people who came to my mind! Thank you Lord for answering the prayers of many and bringing this precious soul to us! Please welcome Meghan Austin to the Refuge team!
Meghan grew up in Graham and has always had a love for working with children. From babysitting as early as Jr. high to being active in 4-H and helping lead children of all ages. She has felt the Lord call her to work with children in some capacity throughouther life. She attended Texas Woman’s University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education with an emphasis in ESL and Special Education. After graduating, she spent a few years working in ABA therapy with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. While in college, she met her husband Hayden and they were married in 2021. In 2023, they trusted the Lord in His leading them to move to Olney and have loved being here. They are members of First Baptist Church and love to help out with children, youth and other ministries. She has also enjoyed serving as a member of Keep Olney Beautiful. Since being in Olney, Meghan has worked remotely tutoring K-8 in reading and Hayden works at Air Tractor. In her spare time, Meghan enjoys reading, gardening, and crafting. Keeping the Lord at the center of their relationship has always been important to them; seeking where He wants them to be and serve. They are excited to be in Olney and being involved in the community.
