This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost — a powerful moment in the life of the Church when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples.

Pentecost is often called the birthday of the Church, because it marks the moment the disciples were empowered to go out into the world with courage, unity, and the presence of the Holy Spirit guiding them.

Today, that same Spirit is still at work — bringing hope, strength, peace, and boldness to God’s people.

Acts 2:1-3 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

“Ebenezer” means stone of help — a reminder found in Scripture that God has brought His people this far and continues to guide them forward.

“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’” — 1 Samuel 7:12

At Ebenezer Church of Richland County, that name is more than history — it’s a living testimony. It reflects a community built on faith, gratitude and the steady knowledge that God is helping us each and every day, providing strength, hope and direction in both the quiet and the challenging moments of life.

Every gathering, every act of service, every moment of encouragement becomes another “stone of help” in the story God is writing through His people. Together, the Church continues to stand as a place where faith is strengthened, burdens are shared and neighbors become family.

A heartfelt thank you to Willard Anderson for helping transport the donations, and to everyone in our church family whose generosity made this outreach possible.
