That CHURCH is dear to the hearts of many. Can’t change that. I was probably the last one to print a Newsletter there and was proud to call it my “retirement” Church. That is my post heading when I wrote for them. The powers that be chose to come up with a new recipe, or to find a new job description, so LEWISBURG UNITED METHODIST CHURCH fell to the birth of a new concept they named the well. I keep writing by calling it LEWISBURG UNITED METHODIST: This is my story: I can only speak for me, but I WILL do that. I will keep the channels of memory open and I suspect there are many who will find that of interest. Any and all who want to can post through the site. Feel free. I am just ONE United Methodist. As for those who are in the present struggle, I have posted many times; Go by the Bible, Go by the Discipline, and those who can’t can simply go bye bye! It is they who need repentance or out. This is NOT saying the present Well was full of the people who are rattling the sabers of separation; likely none at all expouse the demon of separation. Right? Write!

Maybe someday they will rename this post as we intended. It was supposed to be, LEWISBURG United Methodist : This is my story. By Rev. James T. Smith. The CHURCH has Been officially closed and became “The Well”. The church exists in the minds of its past members.

All of you may not know Ole Bro.Jim has been being treated for OSTEOMYLITIS. I get an infusion of antibiotics daily through two lines. JoAnn is my shooter and we hope six weeks of what we hope is fighting staph will be the H Bomb kick for my “feckshun”. I have nurses running about and changing dressings and drawing blood! May all things work together for good.

One will never be able to pry the memory of LEWISBURG from the hearts of the ones who grew up there. It was there before were and will be after we are gone. God is not a fickle giver. What we have been given is an eternal
Treasure! Treat it as such!
