THE PERFECT KING!!
Psalm 45 is a beautiful song about a King. In the King James Version, this Psalm begins with joy. The writer's heart is full, and his words flow out like a song for the King. This is not just about an earthly king. God is showing us Someone greater. He is showing us Jesus Christ, the King of kings.
Jesus is not like any other ruler. He is fair, good, holy, and true. Psalm 45 says, "Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips." This helps us see the beauty of Jesus. His beauty is not only in how He appears. His beauty is in His heart, His words, and His ways. When Jesus speaks, He speaks truth. When Jesus acts, He acts with mercy. When Jesus rules, He rules with love and power.
This Psalm also shows us that Jesus is a mighty King. It speaks of the King with His sword, riding in majesty, truth, meekness, and righteousness. Jesus is strong, but He is not cruel. He is powerful, but He is not selfish. He fights for what is right. He stands against sin, lies, and evil. He is the perfect King because He uses His power in perfect goodness.
Psalm 45 tells us that the King's throne is forever. That is a wonderful truth about Jesus. Earthly kings come and go. Nations rise and fall. Leaders change. But Jesus never changes. His throne lasts forever and ever. His kingdom will never end. He is always in control. He will always be King.
This Psalm says that the King loves righteousness and hates wickedness. That shows us the holy heart of Jesus. He loves what is pure, right, and good. He hates sin because sin destroys people and separates them from God. Jesus did not come to excuse sin. He came to save us from sin. He died on the cross for our sins and rose again so we could be forgiven and made new.
We also see that Jesus is a gracious King. He is high and holy, yet He invites people near. He receives those who come to Him in faith. He does not turn away the broken, the tired, or the guilty. This is the wonder of who He is. The perfect King is also the loving Savior.
Psalm 45 gives us a picture of honor, beauty, and joy in the King's house. This reminds us that being near Jesus is the greatest blessing. To belong to Him is better than anything this world can give. He fills His people with joy, peace, and hope. He is worthy of our love, our trust, and our worship.
God is revealing something very precious in this Psalm: Jesus is the King we have always needed. He is perfect in truth. Perfect in love. Perfect in power. Perfect in holiness. He never fails. He never sins. He never rules unfairly. He is the King who gave His life for His people. What kind of King does that? Only Jesus.
Maybe you have tried to run your own life. Maybe you have trusted other things to save you - your goodness, your plans, your strength, or this world. But none of these can be King the way Jesus can. None of them can forgive your sins. None of them can give you eternal life. Only Jesus can save. Only Jesus is worthy to sit on the throne of your heart.
Here’s to remembering:
Jesus is the perfect King. He is beautiful in holiness, full of grace, mighty in power, and eternal in rule.
Jesus is the righteous King. He loves what is right and hates what is evil.
Jesus is the saving King. He died for sinners and rose again so we could belong to Him forever.
Jesus is the personal King. He does not only rule over heaven and earth - He calls each of us to know Him, trust Him, and follow Him.
Today, make a decision. Call upon Jesus Christ to be your personal Savior and the King of your life. Turn from sin and turn to Him. Put your faith in Him. You can pray from your heart:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. Please forgive me, save me, and be the King of my life. I trust You as my Savior and Lord. Amen.
The perfect King is not far away. Jesus is ready to save all who call upon Him.

PSALM 44: When It Seems God, who We Know Is on Our Side, Seems to Have Abandoned Us!

Why Do We Go Through Seasons Of Suffering And Defeat When God is supposed to be on Our Side?

“But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,” (Psalm 44: 9-15 KJV)

I’ve been reading after a group of body -builders who encourage stretching exercises to prevent the age old “shrinkage” phenomenon that we as geriatrics tend to experience! They believe and have even proven in their own lives that “stretching” our body actually allows to grow taller as we age!

God is revealing to us in Psalm 44 a similar comparison concerning maturing in our faith! This is not just an individual going through the painful process of stretching, in fact this Psalm is credited to the sons of Korah during a period when Israel was going through defeat after defeat and despairing over the assumption God must have just abandoned them and left them on their own!
God allows each and all of us to experience this faith, spiritual maturity process!
Praise the Lord, there are more than just the verses I shared for the scripture reading in this song!

“Psalms Chapter 44 is a poignant and complex chapter that navigates the intricate dynamics of faith, suffering, and hope. It invites readers to embrace the full spectrum of human emotion in their relationship with God and provides a powerful model for communal lament and prayer. This chapter serves as a testament to the enduring faith of the Israelites and their persistent hope in divine deliverance, even in the face of overwhelming adversity. As modern readers, we are reminded of the importance of memory, faith, and communal solidarity in our spiritual journeys, and the enduring promise of God’s unfailing love.” (Psalms 44
God's Faithfulness in Times of Trouble

Here’s to remembering: God has promised us He will never leave us nor forsake us! In fact did you know there are over 100 verses in the Bible that assure us that God is true to that WORD! (cf. 100 Bible Verses about
God Will Never Leave You Or Forsake You; openbible.info)

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV)

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 ESV)

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV)

However, He did not say He would never test us to grow our faith relationship with Himself!

“Cherokee Indian’s had a ritual for boy’s initiation into manhood.
According to this ritual. Father blindfold his son and take him into the forest and leaves him there alone. There boy is required to sit on a stump for whole night until ray of sun shines through it………..
A young boy had to go through this ritual. His father blindfolded him and took him into the center of forest where he could here all kind of noises. Boy was terrified to hear those noises.
Boy was sitting on stump and wind was so hard that it shook his stump. He could hear animals howling at night, sound of trees and grass bowing because of wind. He was scared to think if someone would attack him or some animal come at him and because of blindfold he would not be able to save himself for any kind of danger.
Boy was scared yet he sat stoically without removing his blindfold because he knew that it would be only way he can be man. Young boy survived the night, sun appeared and boy could feel the warmth of sun rays. He removed the blindfold.
To his surprise, he saw his father sitting right next to him on another stump..
When he talked to his father, he got to know that his father was sitting there all night right next to him watching him the entire night.” (Cherokee Indian Rite of Passage;

Praise the Lord that’s what God is revealing to is in Psalm 44!

Psalm 43: When Times of Spiritual Dryness, Darkness, or Despair Seem Unbearable and Unbreakable!

“Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” (Psalm 43:1-5 KJV)

“What are you expected to do when you pray but the feelings of pain, darkness, depression, or isolation will not lift? Psalm 43 answers that question. In Psalm 42, a descendant of Korah lamented to God and prayed for the feelings of darkness to end. He received no immediate answer from God. This Psalm reflects what he did when the feelings of darkness endured in his life. From the psalmist’s example, God reveals seven lessons to follow when the darkness will not lift in your life. These include continuing to seek God’s: (1) deliverance, (2) fellowship, (3) comfort, (4) guidance, (5) joy, (6) strength to persevere, and (7) hope.” (Psalm 43: Lessons Regarding What God Offers You When The Darkness Persists in Your Life; inspiredscripture.com)

From Psalm 43 we discover God does not want us to stay in this sad and miserable season! Instead He reveals through the Psalmist 7 lessons to lead us back to His light:

1. Cry Out For His Deliverance. Ps. 43:1.

“Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.”

2. Continually Seek His Fellowship. Ps. 43:2a

“For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off?”

3. Continually Seek God’s Comfort. Ps. 43:2b.

“why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”

4. Continually Call Out for God’s Guidance. Ps. 43:3.

“ O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.”

5. Crave His Joy That Surpasses All Understanding. Ps. 43:4

“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and I will praise You on the lyre, God, my God.”

6. Covet Perseve- verance in Your Faith. Ps. 43:5a.

“Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God . . .”

7. Continually Place Your Hope in God. Ps. 43:5b.

“for I will again praise Him for the help of His presence, my God.”

Here’s to remembering:

“Psalm 43 is a timeless prayer for anyone feeling lost, alone, or overwhelmed by life's challenges. It reminds us that we can always turn to God for help, guidance, and the assurance of his unwavering love.” (jcgm.org)

In His time, God will send you the Help you need!

“While crossing a plain, Pliable and Christian suddenly fall into a miry bog. This place is called the Slough of Despond. They both struggle in the mud, and Christian begins to sink because of his burden. Pliable gets angry; this isn’t the happy journey Christian had promised him. He fights his way out of the bog and returns home.
Christian, however, keeps struggling in the direction of the Wicket-gate. Eventually a man named Help appears and pulls Christian out of the Slough.” (The Pilgrim’s Progress: Part 1: The Slough of Despond
Summary & Analysis; litcharts.com)

Sometimes God has to tests us, to see which faith-character we have! Is our faith-character like Pliable’s revealing we do not have the faith to pursue God’s will and purpose in/for our life; and turn away and give up, when trials strike! Or is our faith-character like Christian’s, and we will not quit regardless of the trial(s)! This is the faith which God will reward, in His time, so that you or I will know we won’t quit regardless of how rough or tough the season gets, because of the prize that is set before us! [By the way, the test(s) is/are for us, Father already knows the answer!]

Psalms 42: God is Always Faithful, Even When Our Spiritual Life is in its most Fretful Condition!

“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” (Psalms 42:1-11 KJV)

Have you ever been through a time in your spiritual life when you feel you have lost your way? Or you feel like your soul and spirit are all but totally dried up! It could be compared to a person lost in the desert whose only wish is to have a drink of cool water that his or her life might not wither totally away, but be refreshed and revived again? God is using David to show us that you or I are not alone, we are not the only one who has gone through this stressful and overwhelming experience! David, whom God said was a man after His own heart, went through the exact same torture! David expressed it a little differently however, he gives us a picture, not of a deer strolling up on a spring fed stream and stopping to get a sip of water! He describes a scene where this deer has been running, seemingly forever, fearfully and fretfully, most likely from hunting dogs or some other predator! Possibly even suffering from a severe and possibly fatal wound! There is no stream, just the fleeting remembrance of the times he has spent in such places, where the water was gently flowing and he was indeed strolling along drinking at his leisure and enjoying the life itself and the life giving refreshment of God’s provision for him!

“Psalm 42 is a lament, a heartfelt cry for God amidst deep emotional and spiritual distress. Here's a summary:

Longing for God (verses 1-5):
• The psalmist, like a deer panting for water, longs for God's presence.
• He remembers worshipping joyfully in God's temple and feels a painful absence.
• He questions God, asking why he feels abandoned and forgotten.
• Despite his despair, he chooses to remember God's past faithfulness and find hope.

Overwhelmed by Troubles (verses 6-7):
• The psalmist is overwhelmed by his enemies' taunts and his own internal struggles.
• He feels like he's drowning in a sea of troubles.

Renewed Hope in God (verses 8-12):
• The psalmist calls out to God for mercy and deliverance.
• He reminds himself that God is his rock, his source of strength and hope.
• He chooses to trust in God's love and faithfulness, even in the midst of his pain.” (Psalm 42 meaning explained in AI Summary; jcgm.org)

Here’s to remembering:

Never, ever forget, God is always faithful, even when our soul and spirit are broken and fretful! Even when we feel our spiritual life has hit rock bottom and has all but been sucked completely out from within us! David is saying to us Father has not moved, He has not forsaken you or deserted you! He is always faithful, He’ll make a way! He’ll get you through this too, just as He always has in every other tough season you have faced before!

“When you're up against a struggle
That shatters all your dreams
And your hopes have been cruelly crushed
By Satan's manifested schemes
And you feel the urge within you
To submit to earthly fears
Don't let the faith you're standing in
Seem to disappear

Praise the Lord
He can work through those
Who praise Him
Praise the Lord
For our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord
For the chains that seems to bind you
Serve only to remind you
That they drop powerless behind you
When you praise Him

Now Satan is a liar
And he wants to make us think
That we are paupers
When he knows himself
We're children of the King
So lift up the mighty shield of faith
For the battle must be won
We know that Jesus Christ has risen
So the work's already done

Praise the Lord
He can work through those
Who praise Him
Praise the Lord
For our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord
For the chains that seems to bind you
Serve only to remind you
That they drop powerless behind you
When you praise Him

Praise the Lord
He can work through those
Who praise Him
Praise the Lord
For our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord
For the chains that seems to bind you
Serve only to remind you
That they drop powerless behind you
When you praise Him

Praise Him, praise Him
When you praise Him
When you praise Him
When you praise the Lord” (Praise the Lord; The Imperials; genius.com)

Psalms 40:

“Psalm 40 offers a profound reflection on the themes of hope, deliverance, and gratitude!

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered……… 16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.” (Psalms 40:1-5, 16-17 KJV)

“The psalmist begins by celebrating the act of waiting patiently for God, illustrating a deep trust that resonates with anyone who has faced uncertainty or despair.
This waiting is not passive; rather, it embodies an active expectation of divine intervention.
The metaphor of being lifted from a muddy pit emphasizes the transformative power of God’s salvation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psalm_40), suggesting that even in our lowest moments, redemption is possible.
As a powerful act of worship, the psalm transitions into a declaration of God’s faithfulness………………

The closing verses take a turn towards introspection, as the speaker acknowledges their own limitations and the weight of sin.
In this honesty, the psalm opens a doorway for spiritual growth, teaching us that vulnerability fosters connection with God and others.” (EXCERPTS: Psalm 40 Summary (Meaning, Lessons & Key Verses); Adam Chapman; christianityiq.com)

Here’s to remembering:

“Psalm 40 is a psalm of both thanksgiving and supplication. It celebrates God's faithfulness in times of trouble and expresses unwavering trust in his continued help. The psalm reminds us that even when surrounded by difficulties, we can find hope and strength in God's love and power. It also highlights the importance of actively proclaiming God's goodness and seeking to live in obedience to his will.” (Psalm 40 meaning explained in AI Summary; jcgm.org)

Oh may we never forget that God:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early
(Psalms 46:1-5 KJV)

“For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?” (2 Samuel 22:32)

“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” (Corinthians 9:8-11)

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 KJV)

“Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.” (Psalms 70:4 KJV)

Psalms 39: “THE FRAILTY OF LIFE”!

“Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
6 Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.”(Psalms 39:4-7 KJV)

King David is older as he writes this song. In and through it, God is using his thoughts and reasoning to remind us of just how short and frail our lives really are!

Here are some scriptural reminders to that effect:

• “And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.” ( 1 Samuel 20:3 KJV)

“Solomon's reflections on the brevity of life are deeply embedded in the Book of Ecclesiastes. He emphasizes the transient nature of life, urging people to live with purpose and gratitude. Here are some key insights from Solomon's teachings:

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1-14 KJV)

Other scriptures on life’s frailty and brevity:

• “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:15-16)
• “You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." (James 4:14)
• Romans 8:18: "I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18)

“These verses and teachings encourage believers to live wisely, depend on God, and seek eternal perspectives. They serve as a reminder of the fleeting nature of earthly existence and the need to focus on spiritual matters and eternal truths rather than temporal concerns.”(https://biblehub.com)

Here’s to remembering: “David didn’t find comfort in positive thinking — he found it in honest reckoning with mortality. Life is v***r-short. The question isn't whether life is brief but whether you're spending it wisely.” (Psalm 39: The Brevity of Life; sundays.com).

What if we were to meditate on the 'handbreath' of our days, not in a macabre or morbid way, but honestly? I wonder if doing so might change what we argue about, might help us not to hold grudges, might help us not to get so angry about things, might help us to forgive others more easily, or keep us from doing things that hurt others, or cause us to stop postponing things that show others how much we love and care for them? I wonder if our remaining days could be counted on one hand, would we do things any differently?

Maybe right now would be a good time to start doing that, before the v***r, which is our life, dissipates and disappears!

Psalms 38: CONVICTION OVER SIN!

“38 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.
22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.” (Psalms 38:1-22 KJV)

God uses David reveal to us 3 powerful truths concerning true conviction over our sin(s)! True Conviction:

1. Begins with a genuine fear of the repercussions of sinfulness! (vss. 1-8)

2. Is accompanied by a genuine realization of not being right with God or others! (vss. 9-16)

3. Leads to genuine confession of your sin, repentance from it, and a brokenness, contrition, and humbleness of heart that begs God for relief and forgiveness! (vss. 17-22)

Here’s to remembering conviction of sin is not an I think I need to join the church today! It is not a frivolous decision to become a church member because all my friends have done so! It is definitely not just a matter of deciding I think I’ll “turn over a new leaf”, a do better attitude, or a sweeping of my sins and wrong doings in my life, under the rug!

Conviction is a God sent, Holy Spirit, overpowering that your life or some thing(s) you are doing is absolutely wrong, you are miserable over it, and have an unquenchable heart’s desire to be free of it, that only God can help you do something about it!

Oh that the Holy Spirit’s amazing, burning fire 🔥 of conviction would fall upon each of us and our whole world!

What a wonderful world that would be!

P.S. it’s coming maybe sooner than we think!
