Today is our annual Family Egg Hunt, Bonfire, and Prayer Walk!! Join us for a memorable time of fellowship and fun before we settle in and remember all that Holy Week is. We will have an egg hunt, crafts, food, and worship. This event is for all ages. Join us!!

We had another great night on Sunday in our class What's Lent? We talked about why there are 40 days in Lent and discussed Palm Sunday. I mentioned to them that each gospel recounts Jesus' Triumphant entry into Jerusalem, but they are all slightly different...just like if you were to ask multiple people to tell you about any event that they attended. Each person would tell it just a little differently. I encourage you to read these passages with your families and discuss the similarities and differences (Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-40; John 12:12-19). You could even go a step further and discuss how the New Testament sometimes references the Old Testament especially when discussing prophecy. Check out Zechariah 9:9.

We had an awesome time tonight in the first lesson of “What’s Lent?”. Our lesson was about Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. We also made a Lenten Prayer countdown chain that offers a scripture passage and prayer prompt every day in Lent. I pray that this brings families closer to God and closer to each other during this season as we look forward to Easter.

The recent weather that forced us to cancel recent worship services also kept us from beginning our Grace & Me children's series as planned. Because we would like to keep all of the lessons in this important series intact, we are going to move it to later in the year. This move allows us to offer a 3-week series about the season of Lent. This timely series will discuss the parts of Lent and the reasons why we recognize them. It will begin on Sunday, February 15, before the first day of Lent, and run through March 1.
