Living Our Faith with Justice and Compassion

The United Church of Christ affirms that religious freedom is a vital part of our shared life—one that calls us to respect the dignity and worth of every person.

At the same time, we are mindful of the ways faith and freedom can be used in ways that cause harm to others. We are invited to consider how we live out our values of justice, compassion, and care for our neighbors.

As World Refugee Day approaches, we hold in prayer those who have been forced to leave their homes in search of safety and hope.

Across languages and cultures, the word “welcome” carries deep meaning. We are reminded of the call to extend compassion, hospitality, and care to all who seek a place to belong.

Global Prayer Connection

This week, Global Ministries invites us to pray with partners in Italy, where volunteers are supporting refugees as they begin new chapters of their lives. Through shared stories and conversation, those who have already settled offer encouragement, insight, and hope to those just arriving.

These moments of listening and connection remind us that even difficult journeys can become sources of strength for others. As we reflect on their work, where might we be called to listen, support, and walk alongside one another?
