πŸ’œ World Su***de Prevention Day
September is Su***de Prevention Month

World Su***de Prevention Day reminds us that hope begins with connection. A kind conversation, a listening ear, or simply letting someone know they are not alone can make a meaningful difference. And by speaking openly and listening with compassion, we can help end the stigma surrounding mental health and su***de.

As people of faith, we are called to care for one another with compassion and love. This month, let's be intentional about checking in with friends, family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be struggling. Sometimes the simple question, "How are you really doing?" can open the door to hope. The 2024–2026 World Su***de Prevention Day theme, "Changing the Narrative on Su***de," encourages open, honest conversations that replace silence and stigma with understanding and support.

If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You don't have to face difficult moments alone.

This week's Global Ministries Mission Moment invites us to pray with our partners at Evangelical Mission Hospital, Tilda (EMHT) in Central India, where compassionate healthcare has been shared in the spirit of Jesus Christ for nearly a century.

Serving people from nearly 150 surrounding villages, EMHT provides affordable, patient-centered care in communities where access to healthcare is often limited. Even as financial challenges grow, the hospital remains committed to its mission of transforming lives through healing, compassion, and faith. Through the support of Global Ministries, the hospital has been able to strengthen its surgical ministry and continue providing quality care to those who need it most.

As we pray this week, may we give thanks for the dedicated staff, patients, and communities served by Evangelical Mission Hospital, and for the ways God's love is made visible through ministries of healing around the world.

The first Labor Day parade took place in New York City on September 5, 1882, as thousands of workers gathered to celebrate the dignity of labor and the contributions of working people. More than a century later, Labor Day continues to remind us to give thanks for all who laborβ€”in every profession, every vocation, and every act of service that strengthens our families and communities.

As Christians, we also recognize the gift of rest. God calls us not only to meaningful work, but also to Sabbath, renewal, and gratitude. However you spend this Labor Day, may you find time to rest, reflect, and give thanks for all who serve others through their daily work.

09/03/2026

Observed each year on September 5, the United Nations' International Day of Charity recognizes the importance of compassion, generosity, and service in building stronger communities.

As Christians, we know that charity is more than a single day of observance. Jesus calls us to put love into action every dayβ€”through acts of kindness, generous giving, a helping hand, or simply taking time to listen.

International Day of Charity gives us an opportunity to be intentional about putting our faith into action. Choose one act of compassion: volunteering, donating, checking in on a friend, helping a neighbor, or simply taking time to listen. Let that one act become a habit of reflecting God's love throughout the year.

This week's Global Ministries Mission Moment invites us to pray with our partners in Angola who have faithfully shared Christ's love through worship, education, healthcare, and compassionate service.

Through times of peace and hardship alike, the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (IECA) has remained a steadfast source of hope, resilience, and care for its communities. Global Ministries has been blessed to walk alongside the church for generationsβ€”not as helpers from afar, but as partners in faith. Together, we are reminded that God's mission is something we share, learning from and supporting one another across cultures and continents.

As we pray this week, may we give thanks for our brothers and sisters in Angola and for the ways God's Spirit is at work through faithful communities around the world.
