CheongAh-MAHA Buddist Temple aspires to be a sanctuary where everyone who comes and goes can find comfort and tranquility amid the challenging society/world. Our doors are always open to those who need a moment of calm, a pause, and the chance to empty their thoughts.

Today at CheongAh Maha Temple, we held the eye-opening ceremony (a ritual to bring the artwork to life) for the SunjaeDang ‘Heart Sutra Hubul Taenghwa’ (a sacred painting that goes behind the main Buddha statue). The SunJae Korean students really stepped up—they played the dharma drum (법고) and performed the yukbeop offering (육법공양: a traditional Buddhist offering of six items), showing what it means to be the true hosts of SunjaeDang. So proud of how they made this ceremony so meaningful! #뉴욕청아마하선원
