We are so Grateful for every person who showed up to worship and hear from God’s Word this past weekend!!

David was at the top of his reign — kingdom stable, enemies defeated — and pride crept in. He counted his men. Not to honor God. To feel his own strength. Joab warned him. He didn’t listen. And when judgment came, David made the wisest choice of his life: “Let me fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great.” Not into the hand of men. Into God’s. Because David knew something — mercy lives there. Then he bought the threshing floor of Araunah for full price. “I will not offer to the LORD my God that which costs me nothing.” That ground became the site of Solomon’s temple — and by tradition, Mount Moriah itself, where Abraham offered Isaac and where the Son of God would one day be offered for us. Nothing is wasted in His hands.

Another powerful Sunday at Calvary! and we couldn’t be more grateful. So glad you were with us today.

Babylon had a plan for Daniel. Strip him of his home, rename him, feed him from the king’s table, and slowly reshape everything about him. And Daniel let most of it happen — the new name, the new language, the new education. But he drew the line at the food. Not because it was an easy stand. Because eating it meant something. It meant belonging to Babylon. And Daniel already belonged to someone else.

Today Pastor Lloyd opened Daniel 1 and showed us what it looks like to hold your convictions in a culture that’s working hard to dissolve them.

What a gift it is to gather every week and open God’s Word together. Grateful for everyone who was with us at Calvary this morning.

At the end of his life, David didn’t just leave a throne he left a legacy. 2 Samuel 23 records his last words and the stories of his mighty men. Men who stood alone in a field while everyone else fled. Men whose hands stuck to their swords mid-battle. They weren’t born mighty. They became mighty. And what made them that way wasn’t talent it was loyalty to a leader worth following. David’s legacy wasn’t just what he built. It was who he shaped.
