The United Community Services (UCS) of Johnson County just published its most recent data on homelessness. This is very helpful information as we continue to involve ourselves in the neighborly love work of housing in our community. Two key points of data to highlight:

27% increase of unhoused neighbors from January 2025
19% of those unhoused are under the age of 18.

May this move us toward greater prayer, compassion, and action. Lord have mercy.

Despite some victories in the past year, nonprofit The Good Faith Network and county commissioners remain at odds over how to permanently fund housing efforts.

This affordable housing project right here in our parish is so encouraging. The partnership between Johnson County, KS Government and Metro Lutheran Ministries created 16 units specifically for neighbors experiencing homelessness. Trinity Fellowship was honored to help support this project as well. We look forward to seeing and contributing to more projects like this in the future for the common good of Olathe!

1 in 9 Olathe school children face food insecure. That totals to 17,080 children. That is one of the reasons why the Olathe Mayor’s Community Food Drive exists. The community will be collecting non-perishable food items through the month of April. Trinity will be partnering with SFT to collect items together.
