Today is the Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord

“On entering the house, the magi saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road” (Matt. 2.11,12)

The visit of the magi to the Christ child can serve to us as an image of the Christian life. Upon encountering Christ, we cannot help but fall to our knees and worship him. As the wise men open their treasure chests and offer gifts, so we open our lives and offer ourselves to our Lord. Like the wise men who, by God’s grace, travel a different way after their visit, so it is with us. We cannot return to our old way of life after an encountering the beauty of the glory of the Lord. A new Way has been given to us in Jesus. This Epiphany, may we draw near again to Christ, worship in gratitude, offer ourselves anew, and continue, by God’s grace, on the Way.

We were blessed to have 5 baptisms, and 60 people at Christmas Eve services last night! And a parish hall, full of food and activity !!
