Yesterday at Trinity, we took time after church to celebrate our High School graduates. 🎓 Annabelle Smith and Will Re*****on were celebrated with a reception and an amazing cake. The cake was made by Sarah Dailey and featured the school colors and interests of both of our graduates. We are so proud of you both and cannot wait to see where your next adventure takes you as you continue to serve God in the Church and world!

Trinity was truly blessed to have received 23 Easter Lillies for our Easter services this year. These beautiful flowers adorned the front of the Church and filled the nave with a lovely fragrance as we celebrated the Resurrection. The Altar Guild ladies remarked how they didn’t remember a time when we've had this many lillies. We are very grateful to everyone who donated a lily to beautify our Church!

Oklahoma Lutherans around the state are praying for us and our ministry. Praise God for such wonderful sister churches in our District!

Join us each week as we pray for the churches of the Oklahoma District. Today we pray for Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma—that God would continue to strengthen their congregation through His Word and Sacraments, bless their pastors and church workers with wisdom and joy, and guide their ministries as they share the love of Christ. May they remain rooted in the Gospel and be a faithful light in their community.

This past weekend, Trinity Lutheran Okmulgee celebrated its first ever Easter Vigil Service. 🕯️The service began outside, where we blessed and dedicated a brand new Paschal Candle and Stand donated by Dr. Jason and Ravin Re*****on and Marilyn Franklin in memory of Bob Franklin. The congregation processed into the darkness of the nave with their own candles and we heard the story of salvation through six different readings. We remembered our baptisms, prayed, and finally heard the proclamation that “Christ is Risen!” It was a wonderful witness to the Resurrection of Christ!

Today the Church observes Good Friday, the day upon which Jesus died on the cross. In our modern day when many churches wont even have service on this day, instead skipping ahead to Easter, we take time to consider the suffering and death of our Lord on the cross. We remember the agony in the garden, the bloody sweat, the mockery, the flogging, the crown of thorns, the nails, the crying out for us, the spear, and the laying in the tomb. We remember that all of this was done in love for us and that “IT IS FINISHED.” St. Paul writes that “we preach Christ crucified” and that certainly is a hard thing for the world to understand. But on this special day that we remember the price Jesus paid, we join together to worship the King who claimed the cross as throne. Join us tonight at 7:30 for the Tenebrae Service. You are invited to wear black as we mourn, not as a funeral for Jesus, but over our sins that caused His death.
