During Bill Junk's time serving as the President of the Foundation, he was always an enthusiastic member of the Petree Grant Committee. This year, we are celebrating 30 Years of The Petree Grant, established through the generosity of Margaret E. Petree.

The Legacy of Margaret E. Petree began in 1996 and is STILL making a difference today. Her generosity continues to ripple outward through lives, families, and communities across Oklahoma. The Petree Grant has awarded over 430 ministry grants to more than 200 organizations across Oklahoma, exceeding $5.4 Million in total.

As we continue to mourn the loss and celebrate the life of our brother and friend Bill Junk, we wanted to remember this story that highlights one of his favorite causes and functions of our work. Through his time leading us, Bill made many connections to ensure the development of clean water wells to communities who desperately need it. He invested in others in ways that will last for generations.

It is with deep sadness we share the news that Bill Junk passed away very early Wednesday, February 25th, after a long and courageous health battle. He is standing with his Lord, Jesus.

For 35 years, Bill faithfully served as Controller, Treasurer, Vice-President, and President, of the Oklahoma Methodist Foundation, guiding the Foundation through seasons of growth, challenge, and transformation. His leadership, vision, and steady commitment helped shape who we are today. We have benefited not only from his professional dedication, but also from his personal faith, integrity, and firm belief in the ministry of the Foundation.

Throughout his illness, Bill demonstrated remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering faith. We are grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and for the lasting impact he made on the Kingdom, the Foundation, and each of us personally.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
