I’ve been at the Lydia Patterson Institute LPI Board Meeting yesterday and today, and my heart is so full. There are so many reasons I love the United Methodist Church, and I saw one of those reasons play out in real time.

People from across our denomination came together — each bringing their own gifts and talents — to support the incredible work of LPI. It was, in every sense, the Body of Christ at work.

Yes, it was a “report meeting,” but somehow these reports were alive — filled with results from months of dedication, creativity, and forward movement. Each one reflected a shared commitment to the students and to creating opportunities for their dreams to take flight.

And let me tell you — it takes a lot of work to make this gathering happen! The planning, the transportation, the meals, all the little behind-the-scenes details — they do it all with such grace and beauty. It’s not easy to herd cats, but they make it look effortless!

The leadership at LPI and on the Board are working beautifully in sync, and watching all the parts moving together like a finely tuned clock gave me so much hope. I can honestly say, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a meeting more. Lori
