We are a church that is focused on sharing the heart of Jesus in the heart of the city. Olivet is a place where people can come with real struggles, real trial, real pain, real grief, real scars, real problems and real questions. It is where those same people can find real answers, real grace, real love, real mercy, real community, real truth from a real God who offers real forgiveness and real transformation.

God is doing a new thing here at Olivet. He is building a gospel oasis for those in the wilderness to come and sit under the shade of God's grace. A gospel oasis where those rooted in Christ can grow in the fruit of the Spirit and reap a mighty harvest for the glory of God.

Come join us in the work, come grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, come home and help us build a city on the hill to shine the light of Christ into our city.

Small groups - Sunday's at 9:30am

William Carey’s words still challenge us today. Faith doesn’t just believe God can, it steps out and acts because He can.

So pray big, believe big, and boldly follow Jesus wherever He may lead you.

In Philippians 1:12 Paul uses a play on words to teach a powerful reality of the Christian life. He writes that what has happened to him (his imprisonment) has actually caused the gospel to advance. In the original Greek the word is Prokopen, and it carries the idea of cutting through something to make a path, like cutting through a forest to make a road. However, you would think his being imprisoned would hinder the gospel, Enkopen, in the original Greek, which carries the idea of cutting off something like destroying a bridge so cargo couldn’t get across to the other side.

Here is the powerful reality of the Christian life, God doesn’t always change your prisons of your life but he does change the prefixes of your life. In Christ our prisons dont DEfine us they REfine us. Our prisons dont show we are UNloved but that we are the BEloved because none are above the master. Our prisons are used by the enemy to DIScourage us but God uses them to ENcourage us and others. In Christ our prisons don’t mean God’s grace has been REmoved but that by his grace we can stand firm UNmoved.

So if your circumstances or situation seem confining, look to Christ and trust that what the enemy wants to use to hinder your growth in Christ, and the spread of the gospel, Jesus can actually use to grow you and advance the gospel.

Pastor Adam taught from Philippians 1:12-20 yesterday on how we can take what seem like prisons of our lives (grief, anger, bitterness, betrayal, loss, addiction, shame) and turn it into a pulpit to preach like Paul, whether in life or death God would be honored by him. If you find yourself in a prison today, preach the gospel to yourself and others, and transform it into your pulpit.

What a wonderful day of worship this morning. The time of congregational praise was powerful hearing all the voices of those present singing together about the goodness of God. What a great reminder that worldly oppositions are believers opportunities to stand like Paul in the midst of our prisons and proclaim it is well with our soul because Jesus is still good, Jesus is still worthy, Jesus is still enough.

Often times we adopt the mindset that if nobody gets close enough to know you, nobody can get close enough to hurt you. But they also never get close enough to truly love you, carry your burdens with you, pray for you, correct you, encourage you, or walk through the valleys with you. However, when we see people through the Spectacles of Faith, we see people in a different light and begin to reject isolation and its lie of being safer than intimacy. This produces three key ingredients in true Biblical fellowship.

You are invited to join with others in our community this Saturday to welcome Pastor Adam, Grace and family from 3-5pm. Pastor Adam's heart is for Olivet to be a gospel oasis in the heart of OKC where we are actively shining the light of Christ and showing the love of Christ to our neighbors. This gathering is a first step in developing new community relationships as well as strengthening existing ones, and gives us yet another opportunity to love on the Mask family.

Have you ever walked through a season where life was so difficult that God seemed distant?

Paul knew what that felt like. Writing from a Roman prison, chained for the sake of the gospel, he wrote these incredible words:"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

How could Paul speak of joy in the middle of such difficult circumstances? Because he wasn't looking at life through the lens of his circumstances but through the lens of faith. Just one verse later, he reminds us why:"The Lord is near."

Join us this Sunday as we begin our new sermon series, Spectacles of Faith. Together we'll discover what it means to see life through the eyes of faith, finding the presence of Christ and the joy that only He can give…even in life's most difficult moments.
