This week (March 8-14) is Catholic Sister's Week! It is a national celebration that shines a light on the spirit, service and strength of Catholic Sisters across the country.

Gracious God, we ask that you bless and guide Catholic sisters as they bring the message of your love and compassion to the world. May they always be filled with your Spirit and be a shining example of your truth and grace.

Seminarians from Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary including our seminarian, Paul Otieno, distributed ashes to travelers beginning their workday.

This morning at Riverside MBTA Station, our seminarians and faculty brought the Ash Wednesday tradition into the heart of the morning commute — a visible sign of faith in the midst of daily life.

Pictured in this group photo:

Patrick Bridges ’29 — Diocese of Orlando
David Ferrucci ’29 — Diocese of Fall River
Paul Otieno ’28 — Archdiocese of Oklahoma City
Deacon Sinclair Cushmore ’26 — Diocese of Orlando
Msgr. William Fay — Professor of Philosophy and Theology, Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary
Nicolas Shump ’29 — Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph
Deacon Daniel Bassile ’26 — Diocese of Orlando
Louis Namugera ’26 — Archdiocese of Boston

From 6:30–8:00 a.m., they distributed ashes to commuters heading into the city, offering a brief but meaningful moment of prayer and reflection at the start of Lent.

Please keep our seminarians in your prayers as they continue their formation and prepare for lives of priestly service.
