Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers continue to answer the call to bring help, hope, and healing to those impacted by disasters.
Currently:
- Chainsaw teams are working locally across the state on a day to day basis.
- A flood recovery team is headed to Ohio to serve in the Columbus area this next week.
- Feeding teams, chainsaw teams, laundry volunteers, and flood recovery teams continue to rotate each week through mid to late September to multiple sites in Indiana.
- Ryan Deatherage, Oklahoma associate DR director, is serving as the planning coordinator for Indiana response at the request of the Indiana DR director.

Zoom Orientation and Credentialing Nov. 30
from 7-8:30pm. Once registered you will receive the link via email a few days prior to the Zoom meeting.

Have you ever thought about what to say or do when you encounter folks experiencing a crisis? The upcoming Chaplain Manual Training and/or Operational Stress First Aid (OSFA) Training being held at Broken Arrow First Baptist Church on August 27-29, 2026 would give you great tools for your ministry toolbelt. Chaplain manual is Thursday & Friday and the OSFA class is Saturday. While the focus of the training is on disaster relief, the material is really practical and beneficial for any ministry setting.
Naomi Paget will be leading our training, and she has over 40 years' experience in many areas of chaplaincy.
Cost for the chaplain manual training is $40 and the OSFA class is $20. This includes your materials, snacks and lunch. To sign up or for more info, email Pat Jones at [email protected]

Oklahoma DR has been asked to help with flood clean-up for homeowners in Carizzo Springs, Texas (southwest of San Antonio). Our first team will serve the week of August 2nd and our second team will follow them and serve the week of August 9th.
Please pray for our volunteers as they go to bring help, hope, and healing to those impacted by the recent flood waters. As they meet the physical needs of the homeowner may the door open to share the Gospel to minister to the spiritual needs that exist.

Started the morning with a devotion and breakfast in Norman with DR volunteers before they headed out to serve that community and then drove to Madill where we had a team of volunteers clearing trees and limbs on the Baptist Village Lake Texoma campus. It’s a great day to be an Oklahoma Baptists!!

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST DISASTER RELIEF volunteers are serving in areas of Oklahoma that experienced widespread damage from severe storms over the July 4th weekend. Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief chainsaw teams continue to respond in affected areas, including areas impacted by the July 4th storms, conducting damage assessments and responding to requests for assistance.

If you are in need of chainsaw services, please call our hotline or complete our online request form (see photo). Due to the large number of requests, we ask for your patience as we work through the assessment and scheduling process. Our teams will respond as quickly as possible based on priority, safety considerations, and available resources.

There is absolutely NO cost for our services. Our trained volunteers are here to serve individuals and families affected by the storm, demonstrating the love of Christ through practical assistance.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities by bringing Help, Hope, and Healing during this difficult time.

Please continue to pray for those impacted by the storms, for our volunteers serving in the field, and for the safety of everyone involved.

As severe weather continues to impact multiple states with tornadoes, floods, and strong winds, Oklahoma DR volunteers stand ready to respond to bring help, hope, and healing. Volunteers were out across the state on Monday assessing damage and cleaning up after overnight storms.
Last week, Tropical Storm Arthur hit Louisiana and Mississippi with tornadoes and severe flooding. Oklahoma DR has been asked to provide mud-out/recovery teams and a shower unit in Plaucheville, Louisiana for the next several weeks.
Please pray for our volunteers as they travel this weekend and begin serving next week. Also pray for those they will serve and for opportunities to share the love of Christ.

In late April, a series of damaging tornadoes caused widespread damage in multiple areas and communities in Oklahoma. Amid the devastation and wreckage, Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) volunteers stepped up to serve people in need.

Oklahoma Baptist DR is planning to serve in Atoka County with chainsaw teams and also is available to serve in the Enid area, which was struck by a devastating EF-4 tornado on April 23.
