Our church family is made up of a diverse group of followers, from a variety of backgrounds and ages. We strive to be an active part of our community and to "make a difference" in the name of God. Each and every person who worships with us, whether a visitor or a lifelong member, is valued and appreciated as a child of God. Our congregation has been blessed with a large number of children. We reco

gnize that the children are the future of our congregation and a true gift from God. We work to have an environment that engages the children. We feel that, in the church, children are to be seen and heard. (Matthew 18:10-5) Our growing congregation actively looks for opportunities to develop children's programs, and provide opportunities to involve the children in a variety of activities, which include: serving others, games, and other fellowship activities. We work under the adopted mission statement of "Leading people to Jesus by being his devoted followers." We strive to incorporate our congregation's recognized values into every church activity, worship service, and our own daily lives. The values of our congregation are as follows:


LOVE
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' — Matthew 22:37-39

SERVE
26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Matthew 20:26-28

GROW
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. — 2 Peter 3:18

GLORIFY
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. — Ephesians 4:13

Our name is derived from 1 Peter 2:21. "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."

For those who may not have heard, Glenna Howard (Leslie’s Mom) passed away this week. Here is the post from Leslie with the details of Glenna’s memorial services:

My sweet Mom passed away early this morning for her final journey into eternity. She loved the Lord with all her heart. We are thankful she is now fully restored and reunited with her sweet sister and her parents. We will miss her every single day! She leaves behind the love of her life, my Dad, of 63 years.

Visitation - Thursday (July 17th) from 6-8 pm John Ireland funeral home in Moore

Funeral - Friday (July 18th) at 10:00 am Norman Church of Christ 1660 24th Ave SE Norman, OK

Graveside- Friday (July 18th) at 3:00pm Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson Okla
