Today, we did something a little out of the ordinary at WatersEdge — we celebrated Dress Like David Depuy Day 👔

Why? Because this week marks 30 years since David first walked through the doors of what was then the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma. And when someone has given that much of himself to the mission, you find a way to honor it.

A lot has changed over three decades — our name, our reach, our tools — but David's commitment to this organization and the people it serves has never wavered. He hasn't just been here for the growth of WatersEdge ... in so many ways, he is part of why there's been growth to celebrate.

Our CEO put it best this morning:
"David has been a really good steward of the opportunities he's been afforded and is now reaching a point where he's leaving his own legacy — the heritage for the next generation. 30 years of legacy is quite significant, and you are to be honored. The organization would not have been nearly as successful as it has been without your leadership and your investment here."

This past Monday, WatersEdge team members had the opportunity to visit one of our nearly 100 ministry partners across Oklahoma and beyond. The Spring Shelter is Oklahoma's only faith-based and certified service provider for victims of abuse and trafficking, and our Advancement and Client Development team got an up-close look at the incredible work happening in Tulsa.

We toured The Ridge, their recently acquired transitional living campus featuring 16 resident cabins, and their Crisis Shelter, a facility that includes an on-site salon, chapel, cafeteria, and much more, serving as the critical safe space for those escaping domestic violence or human trafficking.

We are so thankful for The Spring and the important ministry they play every single day, striving to remove all barriers for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, as well as victims of sexual assault and stalking.
