They were 16, 15, and 14; living on the streets, doing what they could to survive.

Then a National Missionary shared the Good News: God loves them.

Everything changed.

Today, they’re learning skills, earning a living, and growing in their faith. They are walking with Jesus and trusting Him with their future.

The Gospel is reaching those who need it. The world needs more people like that National Missionary.

Psalm 34:18 reminds us: God draws near to the brokenhearted.

If you’re walking through a hard season, God is close. Sometimes, He shows up through people who care, who pray, and who share His hope. Like a family we recently met, whose life was transformed when God moved through local believers.

Our National Missionaries stopped along a boardwalk during a recent visit to a nearby city and bought some marquesitas (a typical regional dessert).

While paying, they began sharing the Gospel with the woman at the stand.

As they talked, she shared that she had five young children, had been abandoned by her partner, and had been contemplating su***de.

Right there at the stand, they prayed with her and one of her children who was present.

The children of the pastor hosting our team invited the woman and her children to church the following Sunday and picked them up.

That day, the mother and all five children gave their lives to Christ.

Thank God a family’s story is changing.

Right now, around the world, National Missionaries are faithfully sharing the Gospel with their neighbors.

They know the language.
They know the culture.
And they are boldly sharing the hope of Christ.

The Gospel is already being shared. But there is still more work to be done.

This week, we shared about Alexander, a man who had been crying out for someone to talk to him about God.
When a team finally came to his neighborhood, hope met him right where he was.
Moments like that remind us why our National Missionaries keep going day after day.
They carry this promise with them:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” – Philippians 1:6
The work that God started in Alexander, the young couple, and in so many others who have heard the Gospel, is only the beginning. God is faithful to finish what He starts.

Alexander had been crying out for someone to talk to him about God.
But no one came.
One night, after a day of outreach, our team felt the burden to go talk with him. Though his neighborhood is considered dangerous after dark, we went to his home.
At 9:30 p.m., Alexander opened the door with joy and disbelief.
Outside on a street corner, we talked, prayed, and shared the Gospel. A young couple nearby joined the conversation, and all were moved to tears as they heard about Jesus.
Sometimes hope arrives in the simplest way. Sometimes it is someone showing up at your door to share the truth of Christ.
That night, hope showed up.

In yesterday’s story, a young man found hope when he heard that Christ died for him while he was still broken.

That is the Gospel.
Not perfection first.
Love first. Grace first. Jesus first.

The world needs more moments where hopelessness meets hope.
