🚨The Edmond Street Ministry Program is in need of lots of items to support folks in downtown OKC!

If you are able to contribute, please bring some items to church on Sunday and we'll be sure they get to Edmond! Check out their detailed list below. 👇

NEEDS OF STREET MINISTRY (Donated money used for needs also)

Women:
-Blouses and T-Shirts - all sizes. We have most need of small & 2X and up
-Pants & Shorts (we never have enough)
-Dresses – all sizes
-Bras – 32 and up
-Underwear – all sizes (hipsters preferred)
-Tampons and Pads (we are running out)
-Shoes – Size 6 and up (always have requests for sizes 9-11)
-Women’s socks

Men
-T-shirts and shirts – Small and up (No scrubs)
-Pants and shorts – any size (desperately needed)
-Underwear – all sizes
-Shoes – Size 10+ (no dress shoes or loafers)
-Socks – just got in 1,000 so not needed at the moment
-Ball caps

All
-Backpacks, knapsacks, and string bags. Canvas bags.
-Books of any kind
-Shampoo in little bottles
-Lotion
-Small deodorants
-Q-tips, Kleenex, and wipes
-Pens and pads
-Journals
-Adult activity books
-Small soaps
-Razors & small shaving cream
-Combs and brushes
-Washcloths
-Small pillows
-Miscellaneous i.e. phone chargers, band-aids, shower caps, shower curtains (for ground cloths),
-Individual wrapped candy

For those who are needing to take Child Protection Training, Jen will be teaching the course on Zoom tomorrow night! We hope you can join.

Needing to take Child Protection Training? An online class will be offered tomorrow night at 7:30pm CT on Zoom!

This training is great for those who are already Registered Youth Workers and need a refresher or those who work with youth and want to take it for the first time. This training will be free and is open to all Community of Christ members & friends.

Nearly two weeks ago, a group of folks from our congregation and lots & lots of friends attended the Oklahoma City Pridefest Parade downtown together! It was a wonderful morning of supporting and celebrating our LGBTQIA2S+ siblings in Christ! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

In Community of Christ, we believe in the Worth of All Persons. We believe each person has inestimable and equal worth in the eyes of God regardless of who they are, how they identify, or who they love. We seek to create communities that value each person as a beloved child of God and challenge systems that say otherwise.

While we have not yet been through our denomination's Welcoming & Affirming Program (through Harmony), it is our hope to do this work soon, look for ways we can show up in our community, and strive to make our congregation a more inclusive and loving place for our LGBTQIA2S+ siblings.

▪️ OKC Pride Parade🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️: Several folks from our congregation will be heading to the parade tomorrow morning! We'll still be having services at church but if you're interested in joining us downtown, please check your email (from Thursday) for more details. Dress comfortably & bring water!
