CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY - BLACK BIBLE HISTORY

Kedar, the Son of Ishmael (Genesis 25:13) and Grandson of Abraham and Hagar, founded a city that is mentioned quite a few times in Scripture.

The name Kedar comes from a Hebrew word that means “swarthy” or dark skinned. Many people claim that the Bible makes no reference to race, but this is only one of the the instances that proves them wrong because ancient Hebrews named their children based on descriptions of appearance, personality, and sometimes future prophecies.
