PERSECUTION & PRAISE // We just received the following report from Meridian Master Trainer Musa Kpaka in Daru, Sierra Leone. Please pray for Musa and his team as they share the Gospel in hostile territory.

“Please continue to pray with us. Thank you very much for your prayers and support towards the Evangelism team. We have reached into 195 villages and towns (since January 2021) with the Gospel and only one village rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ. Matthew 10 was very clear to us because what Jesus Christ said happened to us yesterday. We went to one Islamic town to preach the word of God and the people chased us out of that town because we wanted to talk about Jesus Christ. Two of our team members were beaten with sticks. This makes us happy because of what our Lord Jesus promised us in Matthew 10. Since they did not welcome or listen to us we left the town. We thank God for our lives for we returned home safe. Many are hearing the message of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

READY TO ROLL! // We are happy to report that God is already using the gift given by Creede Baptist Church, a small mountain church in southern Colorado, to purchase transportation for one of our trainers in Liberia. Eleazar Gbenga, a Master Trainer in Ganta, Liberia, will be using his new tri-wheel cargo motorcycle to share the Gospel, disciple other believers and expand his agricultural outreach in the region.

STILL MISSING // Titus Davis, a trusted partner with Meridian University for ten years, who has taken Meridian Training to 25 African countries, disappeared the end of June from his home in Caldwell, a suburb in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. He was recently appointed the leader for ReachAfrica, a global missions organization for the Evangelical Free Church. Authorities and church leaders are still baffled by his disappearance. Even though no ransom has been demanded, many fear he was abducted. Please join believers around the world as they continue to pray for Titus’ family and for his safe return.

PRAISE REPORT // Last Sunday, July 18, Ralph Speas preached at Creede Baptist Church, a small mountain church in southern Colorado. When asked by pastor David Gale what was Meridian’s greatest need at the moment, Ralph replied that many of our trainers need motorbikes to reach remote places to train and evangelize — places where other vehicles may not be able to go. Amazingly, the believers in this small church responded with an offering of $12,606. Now, Meridian will be able to provide motorbikes and, in some cases, three-wheel motorcycles with a bed on the back like a pickup truck!

READY FOR LIBERIA // The newly designed wristbands are ready and packed for our June 14-30 training/mission trip to Liberia. They are used by indigenous believers to share the story of the Bible, from Creation through the Old Testament, Gospel story and return of Christ. The imagery is intentionally simple, so the symbols can be easily memorized and sketched when a wristband is not available. The wristbands have been used in many countries to see hundreds come to faith in Christ.

MERIDIAN MILESTONE // In November 2012, Meridian University awarded its first certificates following 10 months of training. After completing all requirements, including planting a church, trainees qualified to become Master Trainers. Not only did each trainee plant one church, but many started more than one. Ralph Speas has trained 30 Master Trainers and those 30 have trained 159, for a total of 189 Master Trainers. Many are formerly Muslim and Hindu, one a Sadhu (Hindu holy man).
