Labor and faith organizations have a long history of shared relationships, tied together by our common bonds: social justice, equality, the dignity of all people, racial and economic justice, and fair treatment in the workplace.

That’s why the AFL-CIO’s Labor in the Pulpit, on the Bimah and in the Minbar program places union leaders as guest speakers in faith congregations so that they can speak about the values of equity, racial and economic justice and the solidarity that labor shares with the faith community.

Did you know August 30 is National Faith HIV/AIDS Awareness Day? The faith community can work together to build bridges, reduce stigma and sustain hope with an informed, sensitive and compassionate response to those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Religious trauma can harm in many ways, from conjuring pervasive fears about damnation, being told that your gender identity is wrong, disconnection from God’s love, or just an overall sense of unworthiness. No matter the source, religious trauma can be a major barrier to Oklahomans finding a spiritual home and connection.

We’ll talk with Brooke Larimore, who founded the Oklahoma Religious Trauma Network to provide trauma-informed resources for those seeking spiritual healing.
