Our City Kids Lesson today was one of those that is pretty intense and important, but I hope it wasn’t too intense that it went over some heads. We tried to generally follow the same subject that the adult congregation is covering so that parents and siblings can all discuss the service.

We started with a new worship song that really fit the subject for the day. It has great lyrics but might not be the kind of catchy song that the kids end up enjoying.

We then showed and discussed a video about Ephesians 3:20. Our Hope truly is grounded in Jesus because He is able to do infinitely beyond what we can imagine in our lives.

We then showed and discussed a video about Romans 8:28. God truly has a plan. No matter what circumstance we find ourselves then, even if we can’t see the reason for what is happening, we don’t understand the restrictions that our parents or God is put on us, God has a plan and will work all things out for good.

We finished up by tying this into our yearly Christmas follow up story about the Wisemen. After everything that had gone on with Mary and Joseph, they had to have felt a little bit frustrated and weary. Everything they had done right and roadblocks kept being put in front of them. But God had a plan. He had arranged for Wiseman from the East to travel a very long distance and a very long time to give them the provision they would need to leave and go to Egypt. They could not foresee this, but God provided. Their Hope truly was in the Lord. And God really did work everything out for them.

We had some really good real life examples in class. It is not easy to understand when our parents or God say no to us. But, they might just be saying no, I have something better for you. Or no, I’m going to get this for you later. Or, they might be saying no, that’s going to hurt you so I don’t want you to do it.

If you have kids in Kindom City Kids today, be sure and ask them about the armor of God. If you were in the sanctuary or if you had teenagers in the sanctuary, let’s see who remembers the most! Verbiage may have varied slightly between what we covered and what was out in the sanctuary.

We continued our focus on relationships today. That they have done wrong you. But these things are so very necessary for maintaining relationships. We focus on the story of Jacob and Esau.

For the first Sunday of September, we dealt with an issue that has destroyed many relationships over the years: Anger. We all get angry. The anger itself is not the problem, it's what we do when we are angry. Even Jesus had righteous anger. We discussed several triggers and multiple coping skills. The most important thing to do when we feel the anger starting is to pray. I'll attach our videos in the comments.

Today was the day the kids said their memory verse for the adults at Kingdom City Church . So, we now have a new memory verse for September.

Today we talked about two miracles, what they mean for us, and how it applies to our behaviors. Jairus came to ask Jesus to heal his daughter. On the way, a woman with a bleeding issue touched the hem of the garmet Jesus was wearing. Jesus said He felt the healing power leave Him. So why stop? Several deep meanings, but the important thing is that Jesus took the time to stop and minister to this lady's needs. He then proceeded on to raise the daughter of Jairus from the dead. He again took the time to minister and teach. Three Main applications:
1) Jesus can meet every need we have-- even healing us from death.
2) Jesus took the time to minister. He stopped doing some important things (including travelling to heal a sick 12 y/o girl). But everything Jesus does is timely, and He will take the time to minister to you.
3) We need to be looking around us and be ready to minister to other people. Jesus took time for us, we need to be looking for opportunities to take the time to minister to other people.
