One of my favorite traditions at MACU is handing a personalized Bible to every new student during First-Year Experience. Stephanie and I spent time praying over each student by name as we prepared these Bibles, asking God to guide, comfort, and inspire them throughout their college journey and beyond. This year we got to hand out over 275 Bibles, and we are so excited to see how our MACU Family grows in faith and purpose.

It was such a joy to gather with our incredible faculty last week for our annual kickoff breakfast as we prepare to welcome our students back to campus. As I looked around the room, I was reminded of the dedication, wisdom, and heart our educators bring to their classrooms every single day. We are a stronger university because of their commitment to paying fantastic attention to detail and investing in the lives of our students. Please join me in praying for our faculty as they prepare to guide our students into another impactful academic year for the glory of God and the good of society!

It was a privilege to gather with our MACU Family yesterday to honor and celebrate Dr. Sharon Lease as she steps into her next chapter. Our Board of Trustees presented her with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters as a small token of our immense gratitude for her fourteen years of remarkable leadership and dedication to academic excellence. We are a stronger, better, and more Christ-centered university because we stand on the shoulders of faithful leaders like Dr. Lease, and we pray God’s richest blessings over her in this new season!

We are celebrating a profound and beautiful milestone today as Kalli receives her white coat at OSU. This ceremony is a powerful symbol of her commitment to the healing ministry of medicine and a testament to years of dedicated hard work. Stephanie and I are incredibly proud to see her step boldly into this calling, ready to live out her faith and purpose in service to others. We are cheering you on, Kalli, even if it means this MACU family has to proudly sport some bright orange today!

It was a special privilege to join Governor Chris Anoatubby and our partners with the Chickasaw Nation for the groundbreaking of the new Chickasaw Nation Health Newcastle Medical Center.

As Governor Anoatubby shared, "We've got a great team, and our University partners are ready and planning ahead to help us educate and staff this facility." We're honored that Mid-America Christian University is part of that vision.

With this new medical center expected to employ more than 5,500 healthcare professionals and administrators, we look forward to equipping the next generation of compassionate, highly skilled leaders who will strengthen healthcare across our region for years to come.

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude as we celebrate the wedding of our daughter, Tori, to Elijah! Watching them step into this new chapter together, grounded in faith and purpose, is the greatest joy a parent could ask for. Stephanie and I are so blessed to welcome Elijah into the family.
