Why do we go through hard times, hardships, trials, and storms??
The Bible said that Job was a righteous man. Why did God allow Satan to put him through all that he did?
His friends said because he must have done something wrong but he didn’t.
Job basically said that God was wrong for doing those things to him. Stop picking on me God I am righteous…….
“Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind: “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? “Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and wrapped it in thick darkness? For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’“
Job 38:1-11 NLT
Does God ever say WHY He allowed Satan to test Job? Not that I can find.
We do know that after the test that Job was blessed far above his life before that test.
”Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”“
Matthew 8:23-27 NLT
Why did they end up in the storm? They were following and right in the middle of the LORDS WILL!!
”When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.“
Matthew 8:18 NLT
Did Jesus know there was a storm?
What could He have done different to avoid the storm?
Why did He want them to go through the storm?
What was the correct response of the disciples in the storm?
Why did He ask, “why were you afraid?”
”Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.“
James 1:2-4 NLT
When have you grown the most in your walk? When things were going smooth and great or in times of your great need for God?
When you are “perfect and complete, needing nothing” you will not be moved by anything this life can throw at you. You will be keenly aware that Jesus is in the boat with you in the time of any and all of the biggest storms in your life.
Remember this during your next opportunity to worry, be afraid, or be anxious about anything.
Now we know why Jesus says not to be anxious about anything. Don’t react to the storm the way you always have. Trust Jesus because He is not worried about the storm at all. He is always at perfect peace in the middle of the boat!
