Will You Come?

Hebrews 4:16
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Many times, we get our image of God from our natural father. If he was loving and kind, it will help you have the right perception of God. But if he was harsh, condescending, and wasn't around much, don't let that negative image distort who your heavenly Father is. God is loving and forgiving. He is for you. He has a great plan for your life. He's not focused on your failures. He has mercy for every mistake. He's waiting to gladly welcome you as the father did the prodigal son (Luke 15). All you have to do is take a step toward Him and He comes running toward you with arms wide open. No more living condemned, feeling unworthy. Come boldly to His throne and receive this mercy. You won't receive it if you go around thinking, "I don't deserve it. I'm unworthy." God is calling your name today, saying, "Come to Me." Will you come? Will you shake off the guilt, the condemnation, the past, and put your shoulders back and see yourself as God sees you-forgiven, redeemed, cleansed, without fault, worthy, and righteous?

Father, thank You that I can come boldly before You, knowing that as Your child this is my rightful place. Thank You that I don't have to earn Your favor or be good enough to come into Your presence. I am coming to pray bold prayers and to dream bold dreams. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Nevertheless

Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."
Luke 22:42

As Jesus was in great distress and faced the coming agony of the cross, He prayed three times that the Father would remove the cup of suffering. It's okay to ask God to take away something that's overwhelming and seems too much to bear, but you need to add the
"nevertheless." "God, if it doesn't happen my way, I'm not going to complain, live bitter, or give up on my dreams.
I'm going to stand strong, endure, knowing that this suffering season is leading to a resurrection, to a new level of my destiny." God wouldn't have you in the difficulty if He didn't have something amazing in front of you. There are levels of favor and blessing you can only see by going through a season of suffering. The pathway through is designed by God to launch you to the power of the resurrection, to favor that you've never imagined. But you have to pass the test. This is the time to say, "God, I may not like it, but I trust You. I know that You're taking me through to a breakthrough."

Prayer For Today: "Father, thank You that You are worthy of my unconditional trust. There are things in my life that I don't understand, overwhelming things / want You to remove, but even if that never happens, I'm still going to trust You. I gladly leave these matters in Your hands. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Today, we pause to thank God for the gift of work, the strength to serve, and the opportunity to use our hands, hearts, and gifts for His glory.

On this Labor Day, we honor every worker, every servant, every caregiver, every leader, and every person whose daily labor helps strengthen our families, our church, and our communities.

As you rest and reflect today, remember:

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” — Colossians 3:23

May your Labor Day be filled with rest, gratitude, and renewed strength for the work God has called you to do.

The Power of Words

Words have power.

We use thousands of them every day to communicate. They help us share joy and sadness. They help us learn and grow. We use them to build each other up—or to tear each other down. And yet, we often underestimate the impact of our words.

Are you giving thought to the words you speak over yourself or about others daily? Are they words rooted in doubt, fear, and insecurity, or do they come from the truth, goodness, and security in God’s promises?

In Psalm 46:1, the Psalmist makes a powerful declaration of God's truth and promise: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

And this declaration leads to action in the next verse: “Therefore we will not fear” (verse 2).

Our declarations have the power to guide our actions. So what is it that you are declaring? Maybe today, you need the reminder to speak the truth of the words that come from God—your refuge, strength, and ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

As God's child, you have been given freedom in Christ to choose and use words wisely (Colossians 4:6, Ephesians 4:29).

So today, as you remember that God is your refuge and strength, choose words of life. May your tongue be an instrument of blessing, as you declare what is true, pure, admirable, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).
