Have you ever had questions about faith? And I mean any questions even simple ones that you felt like you couldn’t ask or even hard ones that maybe you felt like you shouldn’t ask? Well at Alpha these types of questions are not only allowed but encouraged for those struggling with their faith, wondering about Christianity or if God even exists.
At Alpha questions don’t make you an outsider. We get to join in the work that Jesus is already doing drawing the hearts and minds of people to himself. We get to extend His banquet table to them by sharing a meal and building relationship over talks about life and faith. We are able to make space for people to feel safe to be honest and vulnerable without making them feel like an outsider.
If this sounds like something you wish you had been able to have when you were working out your initial faith journey or even at a point where you were struggling with your own hard questions and you want to join us on this mission field right here there are a few ways you can be a part of what God is doing through Alpha here and all across the world.
1) we need you to pray- for us a team as we navigate these conversations, build real relationships and show how Jesus really does change everything. Also pray for that those who need to be at Alpha to attend. Which brings me to our 2nd way to be involved
2) please invite people. Invite strangers or friends as the Lord prompts you. You can attend too if you’re interested or if you want to bring someone. We have cards you can give away that has the info for Alpha. Stick it on a bulletin board at work or at a coffee shop.
And 3) you can help provide a meal. This is actually a really important aspect of Alpha. The meal is where we build relationships and get to know one another to set the stage for the evenings discussion time. You can do this by donating money for the nights meal and we will take care of ordering it or if you are someone who likes to cook everyone loves a home cooked meal.
