Country Crossroads Church of Okemah, Oklahoma

Country Crossroads Church of Okemah, Oklahoma Crossroads Church of Okemah is a church whose "mission" is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We all make mistakes.

At Crossroads we have casual, non-denominational worship and conservative, Bible based preaching and teaching! Crossroads Church is a "come as you are" / "everyone is welcome" church as Jesus intended for His church to be. No need to get all fancy unless you want to which is perfectly ok too! We are a non-denominational Church part of the Protestant branch of Christianity. What does that mean, well we see that there is no infallible interpreter of Scripture, nor is there a need for one. There is no infallible denomination or church. Even after receiving Christ as Savior, we are all still tainted by sin. No denomination/church has absolutely perfect doctrine on every issue. The key is this – all the essentials of the faith are abundantly clear in God’s Word. We do not need an infallible interpreter or 2,000 years of church tradition to determine that there is one God who exists in three Persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, We believe and preach the God-ordained Lordship of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world , of salvation by faith in Christ alone, redemption through the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, that Jesus is the one and only way of salvation, that salvation is received by grace through faith, the renewing of the mind by the Word of God, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the coming return of Jesus Christ, the Day of Judgment, the thousand-year reign of Christ, that there is an eternal heaven awaiting those who trust in Christ and an eternal hell for those who reject Him. We practice the common Christian ordinances of baptism in water and communion, the singing of songs and hymns, and teaching and preaching from the Bible with the purpose of life application. We aspire to be workers in the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ—the spreading of the gospel for the salvation of people’s souls with a desire of making disciples. I sat here today reading through various comment sections on social media, and my heart is deeply grieved. It actually embarrassed me for the Kingdom of God.

Watching Christians getting dragged into public brawling, trading insults, and acting no different than the world breaks my heart.

I know how we justify it in our heads. We see an attack on someone we love and tell ourselves, “I’m standing up for what’s right. I’m defending my friend.” But when we get caught up in a worldly, digital word battle, we aren't protecting anyone—we’re just giving the world a reason to mock our faith.

What kind of witness do we have when our online presence looks just as bitter and aggressive as everyone else’s?

The Apostle Peter explicitly commands us in 1 Peter 2:12:
“Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

Fighting in public comment sections doesn't build the Kingdom; it destroys our credibility. We cannot fight fleshly battles with fleshly weapons and expect a godly outcome.

Real spiritual strength isn't found in having the last word on a Facebook post. It’s having the self-control to lay down your phone, step back from the mud, and trust God.

Before you hit send or jump into a thread to "defend" a situation, ask yourself: *Is this bringing glory to God, or is it ruining our witness?

Let’s lay down our digital swords and start acting like the people we claim to be.

Sincerely,
Terry Edminsten, Pastor
