Faith doesn’t require us to ignore what is in front of us. It means trusting that what God has said is greater than what our circumstances seem to say.

God has not changed. He is still the Healer, still the Deliverer, still the God who answers prayer, and nothing has diminished His power.

The question is whether we have allowed disappointment, familiarity, or complacency to quietly produce unbelief in us.

Abraham looked at circumstances that seemed impossible and was still fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised. That is the kind of faith we want to grow in, not faith built on what we can see, but faith anchored in who God is.

So what are you believing God for right now?

Bring the facts before Him, hold tightly to His Word, and ask Him to help your unbelief. Then dare to believe Him for something bigger than what you could accomplish on your own.

This Sunday Pastor Mike taught that faith isn’t pretending the circumstances aren’t real. It’s choosing to believe that what God has said is greater than what we can see.

Abraham faced circumstances that looked impossible, yet Scripture says he was “fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” That same kind of faith is available to us, not faith built on what we feel or what we see, but confidence in who God is and what He has said.

Whatever you’re facing this week, don’t allow what you see to become greater than what God has spoken in His Word. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and choose to walk by faith even before you see the answer.

God said it. God is able. We can believe Him.

What does it look like to have faith when what we see seems to contradict what God has said?

Biblical faith begins with believing who God is and trusting that He is able to do what He has promised. Faith does not require us to deny the facts or pretend that difficult circumstances do not exist; it refuses to make those circumstances greater than the promise of God. Like Abraham, we can choose to trust God even when what we see makes His promise seem impossible.

God has not changed, His power has not diminished, and nothing is too difficult for Him. As we diligently seek Him and build our confidence in His Word, we can live by faith rather than allowing what we see to determine what we believe.

What Jesus accomplished on the cross is greater than anything that has come before you.

In Christ, we have been redeemed from the curse, delivered from the power of darkness, and made new. We don’t have to live afraid of our past, our family history, or the words others have spoken over us. Our confidence is in Jesus and what He has already accomplished.

But freedom is also something we are called to walk in. There may be patterns, habits, ways of thinking, or areas of compromise that need to end with us. God’s Word calls us to repentance, obedience, the renewing of our minds, and a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit.

So take an honest look at what you’ve allowed to continue. Close the door to compromise, renew your mind with the Word, and choose to live according to who you are in Christ.

Can the sins of your family, the words of others, or even a curse have greater authority over your life than what Jesus accomplished on the cross?

Scripture makes a clear distinction between the consequences and patterns that can pass through generations and the new standing we receive in Christ. Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law, delivered us from the power of darkness, and made us new in Him.

But freedom in Christ is not permission to live carelessly. Believers are still called to reject sin, refuse compromise, renew their minds, and give no place to the enemy. Our confidence is not found in fearfully searching for every curse or generational problem, but in trusting what Christ has accomplished and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform the way we live.

So many people are searching for freedom in all the wrong places, yet true freedom is found in the presence of God.

When we encounter Jesus, chains are broken, burdens are lifted, and hearts are made whole. His presence brings peace to the anxious, hope to the discouraged, and freedom to those who have been carrying the weight of life for far too long.

The places that wounded us can become the places we learn to hide.

Mephibosheth had been wounded, forgotten, and living far from the life he was meant to know. But while he was hiding, the king was already looking for him.

That is what grace does. It finds us in the places pain has taken us and reminds us that our wounds do not get the final word over our identity. Because of Jesus, we don’t have to earn our way into a relationship with God or wait until every weakness is gone. He invites us to His table, welcoming us into His presence, His family, and the life He has for us.

Your wounds may be part of your story, but they don't have to determine where you stay.

Come out of hiding. There is a seat at the table.

What if the place you’ve been hiding is the very place grace wants to find you?

This Sunday, we were reminded through the story of Mephibosheth that our wounds may affect how we see ourselves, but they do not change how God sees us. While Mephibosheth was hiding in Lo-debar, convinced he had been forgotten, the king was already searching for him.

And the same is true for us.

Jesus is still calling us out of isolation, shame, fear, rejection, and simply surviving, and inviting us to come to His table. Not because we’ve earned a place there. Not because we have it all together. But because grace made a way.

You are not forgotten. You are not disqualified by what happened to you. There is still a seat at the King’s table with your name on it.

Come to the table.
