Our goal in 2026 is to renovate Holy Trinity Catholic Church's interior appearance so that our parish family and visitors might be inspired by the beauty of God's kingdom to follow the example of Blessed Stanley Rother and to share the faith from generation to generation. Today we celebrate the feast of Blessed Michael McGivney, humble parish priest and founder of the Knights of Columbus, who was beatified in 2020.

Known for his tireless service to his parishioners and his defense of the faith, he reminds us that holiness is found in the simple, faithful living of our daily vocations.

Please join us in praying for his canonization:

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Happy Feast Day of Blessed Stanley Rother! He is the first recognized American martyr and first priest born in the U.S. to be beatified. Blessed Stanley was killed in the rectory of his mission in Guatemala on this day in 1981.

Did you know that Blessed Stanley Rother, a humble priest from Oklahoma, faced significant challenges during his seminary years? Initially struggling with Latin, he was even advised to leave the seminary. But his unwavering faith and determination led him to transfer to another seminary, where he successfully completed his studies and was ordained in 1963.

Father Rother's letters from his time in Guatemala reveal a man deeply committed to his parishioners. He learned Spanish and the Tz'utujil language to better serve the indigenous community. His writings reflect his profound love and dedication, often sharing the joys and sorrows of his mission work.

One of his most inspiring quotes is: "A shepherd cannot run at the first sign of danger". This powerful statement encapsulates his unwavering commitment to his flock, even in the face of great peril.

His story is a powerful reminder that perseverance and faith can overcome any obstacle. Let's draw inspiration from Blessed Stanley's journey and his unwavering commitment to God's call.

In today’s second reading we hear: “We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” As Knights of Columbus, we are ambassadors for Christ.

Let us join our brother Knights this Lenten season and return to our Lord through the sacraments so that we may make him known to the ends of the earth.
