Saint Augustine “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” It is our hope and prayer that you will find the rest for which your heart truly longs here at River’s Edge.

Thirteen times. That’s how many times each year we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at River’s Edge (Surprised? Can you name when those thirteen times are?). Six times. That’s how many times we find at least a mention about the Lord’s Supper in the New Testament (Surprised? Most people think there has to be more!). Zero times. That’s how many times we have had a sermon series devoted to this topic in the past 24 years (Surprised? Me, too!). Five times. That’s how many times I bet you will be absolutely surprised by something we say in this upcoming series on communion (Surprised? There may be even more surprises than that!). Numerous times. That’s how many times you will remember something from this upcoming series as you come to the table in the future. And the first truth is this: You are ALREADY WORTHY!

NEW SERMON SERIES - Stand Out
What in the world convinced people back in the Roman world to abandon their beliefs and gods and come to Christ? After all, there were no immediate incentives—no promises of instant and lasting health; no promises of a life of exorbitant happiness; no promises of immediate and continued wealth and no promises of adoring popularity. There were, however, plenty of deterrents. In fact, anyone who became a Christ follower back then could expect a largely negative response from others. So, what in the world convinced them to make such a commitment? Surprisingly, it was the people in the church. And unsurprisingly, it is the same thing today. That’s what we want to explore in our new series which we are calling, “Stand Out.”

What a special service we had this past Sunday--our first-ever YOUTH SUNDAY! Our youth led the entire worship service, and it was such a blessing. Check out the video on our YouTube channel:

This worship service is led by our youth this week, and the sermon is titled, "Praying the Psalms," based on Psalm 42: 1-8 and Luke 11: 9-13.

We are delighted to have become an ECO Presbyterian Church as of May 2025. After more than a year of prayer, Bible study, research and solid discussions, we believe ECO offers a great fit for our congregation and provides many opportunities for us to flourish and grow. We love that ECO (short for A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians) is reformed, evangelical and egalitarian--truly a Presbyterian denomination built for the 21st Century. CURRENT TEACHING SERIES: Sometimes we make things too complicated. Suppose our goal is to follow Jesus. What do we do? Easy. We study theology. We analyze passages. We scrutinize sayings. We delve into the parables, and then we make a list of 72 things to work on before Saturday. And why do we do this to ourselves? It’s complicated. But what if we started by asking the question: “What did Jesus’ life looked like?” What if we asked about Jesus’ daily routine and seek to duplicate that? Where would that take us? I think it would take us right where we want to go. After all, it is Simply Irresistible!

ADVENT TEACHING SERIES: I bet you know the song, “We Need a Little Christmas.” I know it, but I don’t particularly like it. And yet, I do like the idea. We absolutely need a little Christmas. See, Christmas isn’t for the big and important or the rich and powerful. It is for the little people. It’s for ordinary people, people like us, people who know we don’t measure up and can’t measure up—people who know they need grace. See, Christmas is for us because no matter how you read it, there are no “big” people on that first Christmas, but there are great little people! And that is why we all need a “little” Christmas.
