Odessa First Assembly

Odessa First Assembly Loving God // Loving People // Growing Together Loving God. Loving People. Growing Together. That’s what Biblical Christianity is really all about. Let’s be real.

And that’s what you will experience at First Assembly of God in Odessa. Our passion is to cause you to fall deeper in love with God, others and with life. Our mission is growing people. Our vision is to be as a shade tree in the desert. A shade tree in the desert. That’s what you’ll discover at First Assembly. A place to cool off, refresh and renew as you connect with God through worship, the word

and with others. Life can really heat up at times. Raising kids, loving your spouse and pleasing your boss can get your temperature rising. Paying the bills and the IRS can take it out of us. We all need a place to renew, refresh, reflect and refocus before we get back out on the desert highway. So come out of the heat for a while and join us any Sunday or Wednesday at the desert shade tree, Odessa’s First Assembly of God. We look forward to meeting you! This Sunday at Odessa First Assembly, we are talking about the power of encouragement.

Watch Here: https://www.odessafirst.com/sermons/the-power-of-the-father-s-voice

A father’s voice carries weight. Our words can build faith, call out potential, leave room for grace, and remind someone that their past is not the final word over their life.

Barnabas was known as the Son of Encouragement. He gave generously, saw what God could do in people, and refused to write John Mark off after failure.

Join us at 10:30 AM as we discover how the voice of our Heavenly Father speaks louder than criticism, shame, labels, and regret. God is building something strong in us, and He calls us to build one another up.

This Sunday, we are looking at the power of a voice that encourages.

Barnabas was known as the “Son of Encouragement.” He saw potential when others saw failure. He gave generously, brought people into purpose, and stood beside people when others had walked away.

Encouragement is more than being nice. It is helping someone see what God is still building in them.

And above every other voice, there is the voice of our Heavenly Father.

His voice calls us closer. He strengthens the weary, restores the discouraged, and reminds us that our story is not finished.

God is still building something in you.

Join us Sunday at 10:30 AM as we discover the power of encouragement and the Father’s voice that calls us forward.

It is 107 in West Texas today. 🥵☀️Yikes.

So here is the good news: Wednesday night at Odessa First is cool in all the right ways. 😎

Join us tonight at 7 PM for Wednesday Round Table, Adventure Kids, and Nurseries. 🙌

Our youth are at Roaring Springs Youth Camp this week, and we are praying for a powerful week for them. 🔥🙏 But if you have a youth student who did not get the opportunity to go to camp, we still have a place for them tonight.

Come in from the heat, bring the family, and let’s gather, grow, laugh, pray, and be refreshed together. 💧

We’ll have ice and sweet tea for the normal folks, and coffee for those brave souls who look 107 degrees in the face and say, “You know what I need? Something hot.” ☕😂

Tonight at 7 PM!

Lord, bring Your peace where there is fear, Your comfort where there is grief, and Your healing where there is pain. Strengthen those who are recovering, encourage those who are serving, and surround families with Your presence.

We pray that the peace of Christ would guard hearts and minds throughout Midland. May those who are hurting know they are not alone. May churches be places of hope, neighbors be sources of encouragement, and the light of Jesus shine brightly in this difficult moment.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

When Pontius Pilate asked 'What is truth?' he was standing face-to-face with Truth Himself, Jesus Christ. The events leading to Jesus' crucifixion reveal profound truths about sacrifice and redemption. Throughout the Old Testament, animal sacrifices could only temporarily cover sin, but they all poi...

The table has always been a place of power, which is why Jesus chose it for the Last Supper. When He declared the bread and cup as His body and blood, He was revealing that all of Passover's symbolism pointed to Him. The four cups of Passover represent sanctification, deliverance, redemption, and re...

Comparison is a dangerous trap that steals our identity and purpose. Through Peter's restoration story in John 21, we learn that failure doesn't cancel God's purpose for our lives. When Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him, it wasn't about shame but restoration. Peter's immediate comparison...
