Odessa First Assembly

Odessa First Assembly Loving God // Loving People // Growing Together Loving God. Loving People. Growing Together. That’s what Biblical Christianity is really all about. Let’s be real.

And that’s what you will experience at First Assembly of God in Odessa. Our passion is to cause you to fall deeper in love with God, others and with life. Our mission is growing people. Our vision is to be as a shade tree in the desert. A shade tree in the desert. That’s what you’ll discover at First Assembly. A place to cool off, refresh and renew as you connect with God through worship, the word

and with others. Life can really heat up at times. Raising kids, loving your spouse and pleasing your boss can get your temperature rising. Paying the bills and the IRS can take it out of us. We all need a place to renew, refresh, reflect and refocus before we get back out on the desert highway. So come out of the heat for a while and join us any Sunday or Wednesday at the desert shade tree, Odessa’s First Assembly of God. We look forward to meeting you! The Sermon I Never Wanted to Preach | Philippians 1:3–11
Some sermons are easier to preach than others. This is one I never wanted to preach.

As we close a season of ministry together at Odessa First Assembly, Pastor Todd shares from Philippians 1 about gratitude, partnership in the Gospel, and confidence in the faithfulness of God.

We have worshiped together, prayed together, carried burdens together, celebrated victories, walked through difficult seasons, and lived life together. Now, as an assignment changes, one truth remains: God is not finished.

The God who began the good work will continue His work.
Join us as we give thanks for what God has done, celebrate the people who have shared the journey, and look with faith toward what He will do next.

“The one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion.”
Philippians 1:6

In 1 Samuel 7:12, Samuel raised a stone called Ebenezer and declared, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” It stood as a reminder that every victory, every season, and every step forward had been made possible by the faithfulness of God.

In this message, we are reminded that everything we need is found in God’s presence, His power is revealed through unity, and even in seasons when we could not see Him clearly, God was there all along.

🇺🇸 Join us LIVE this morning at 10:30 AM for a special service at Odessa First Assembly!

As believers gather across our nation to pray, we are coming together to lift up one another, our families, our churches, our city, and the United States of America. This is more than a service to watch. It is an invitation to pray, believe, and stand in faith together.

Some battles are not meant to be fought alone.

This Sunday’s message, Pray for One Another, is a reminder that every one of us will have moments when our hands grow weary. Sometimes we are Joshua in the valley. Sometimes we are Moses on the hill. And sometimes God calls us to be Aaron and Hur, standing beside someone else and helping them keep their hands lifted.

Prayer is not passive. It is part of the battle.

Join us as we look at what it means to pray with persistence, carry one another’s burdens, and live as the family of God.

We are going to take a fresh look at how to pray for one another!

Have you ever felt like you prayed your guts out and it seemed like it was hour long prayer. Then you looked at the time and it had been 10 minutes.

We are going to take a fresh look at prayer tomorrow at Odessa First Assembly.

You may not be able to fix everything someone is facing, but you can take their name before the One who is able.

Join us Sunday for Good Company: Pray for One Another.

When you come to faith in Christ, you become a completely new creation - not just forgiven, but transformed from the inside out. However, old patterns and habits may still surface because your mind needs to be renewed to align with who you already are in Christ. The key is to keep the old self dead....
