Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile...their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.”

The cowardly? What if God calls for an important task that requires much courage but the person He calls is characterized by fear? Would God use that person or does he miss his chance?

Let's talk about that. 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 22.

Today we recognize Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, and through His, ours.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Through this we can live a life united with God.

...desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Cor. 14:1)

In 1 Samuel 10, Samuel told Saul in great detail what he would do --meet 2 men at a specific place who would tell him a specific message, then meet 3 men at another place who would be carrying specific things, of which they would offer Saul two, etc.

How did Samuel know all that detail ahead of time. If we're to desire to prophesy, is that kind of accuracy something to which we should aspire? If so, how do we get there?

We'll be discussing it this Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

As at the wedding at Cana, Jesus has saved the best till now (John 2:10). And as He filled those earthen vessels at the wedding, He is willing now to fill you with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19).

Job 22:28 (NASB95)
“You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you;
And light will shine on your ways.

God made all creation by decree, then He made man in His own image and in His own likeness, and he told man to subdue the earth and rule over all the fish, birds, and land animals. In other words, go do powerful things. Did He empower man with the ability to decree a thing that would then be established? What exactly is a decree and do we need it? We'll have interesting discussion this Sunday, October 29.

Luke 24:49
I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Is that power real?

What does it look like?

Can anyone experience it?

Let's talk about it Sunday (8/13). We start at 10 a.m.

Matthew 16:13–20 (NIV84)

13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven... 20 Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

Jesus told Peter how blessed he was because he had direct revelation from the Father of who Jesus is. Then he told the disciples not to tell anyone else. Why? It's extremely important that every individual get his own revelation of Jesus or it won't be meaningful to him. Have you had such a revelation?

We'll be talking about this scripture and others more Sunday morning.

Genesis 13:9
"...Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”

This week we'll take a little deeper look at the grace-filled empowering words of Abram when he and Lot parted ways.

1 John 4:7–8
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

God is love. Much of the Bible is about God's love for us and His call for us to love one another.

Think of a time when you felt especially loved by God.

Judges 3:1–2
These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience):

Sometimes God lets you experience struggles just so you'll learn to fight and win the spiritual battles. He wants you ready and able.

Today we recognize one of the greatest events in the history of the world.

2 Timothy 1:10 ..but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
