Brothers and Sisters,

Consider this. After Jesus went fishing with Peter and the crew, and after their nets were full, this happened.
Luke 5:11 KJV And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all and followed HIm.

Do we have those same guts? ITs not they "left all" although they did to travel with Christ,, they "forsook" all. It didn't matter to them anymore. If we are truly disciples, we must be willing to leave that which separates us from God and go where Jesus leads.
Yes, we may lose some things that are in the here and now, but we will gain things that are eternal. Which is better?
IF we hold onto things with a death grip which are so easily removed and let slip that which cannot be taken away once gained, then we are truly foolish. While we are in this world, let us be content with what God has given us and press forward toward the goal of our faith. The Father may not call you to leave where you are for now, but if He does, are you willing to park the boat and get moving with Him?

Think about that.

See you Sunday!
In Christ,
Brother Charles

Brothers and Sisters:
Today I read something that really spoke to me. I was reading up on Spurgeon’s ideas on faith and this struck me as profound.
When we talk of faith, we often describe it in esoteric non-physical words. However, faith can use all of our physical senses as well. Consider the following:
Sight: Yes, I know we walk by faith and not by sight. No question. But God does tell us this. Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Hearing: Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Then Isaiah 55:3a Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
Smell: Psalm 141:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
Touch: Luke 8:43-44 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
Taste: John 6: 53-56 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Thus, we can see that living with and experiencing Jesus is more then just intellectual assent. IT is living by faith and using all our senses to acknowledge and appreciate our Lord and Savior.

Have a great day!

In Christ,
Brother Charles

Brothers and Sisters,
Sneak peek for Sunday!
We will be seeing what Paul said to the Ephesians about unity and peace within the Church. Ephesians 4: 1-16 will be our text.

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

What does God use to perfect us in Christ? Come and find out this Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, Odessa, MO!

In Christ,
