Thank you, Lord, for loving us so much that we can look to You for help. Amen

This beautiful verse from the book of Psalms is a deep breath and meditation.
It’s a reminder to look - not at the problem before us - but to look up to God.
God is our help and our rock. He is more majestic than the mountains, stronger than the rivers, and yet gentler than the breeze.
So won’t you lift your eyes toward the mountains today?
The maker of Heaven and Earth is there to help you. ❤️

United Methodists are a “singing people,” and each generation brings new United Methodist hymn writers who further renew worship. The Rev. Lovett Weems tells the story of Natalie Sleeth, whose “Hymn of Promise” has become a much beloved way to mark all sorts of beginnings. https://lovettweems.substack.com/p/draft-for-august-6-substack

Join us in prayer for those impacted by historic levels of flash flooding and severe storms across multiple states in the Midwest United States this week, including Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, and Ohio. Widespread evacuations, damage to homes and businesses, and multiple deaths have been reported, with several areas still under flood watch today.

UMCOR is in close communication with the affected annual conferences, and we stand ready to support their response efforts as they care for their communities in need.

Be Still, My Soul…

Where and when do you encounter stillness in your soul?

"Be Still, My Soul" (no. 534 in The United Methodist Hymnal) is an 18th-century German hymn written by Katherine von Schlegel and translated by Jane Borthwick. The song invites us to focus less on our cares and more on the strong presence of God in our lives. Though the world around us changes, God's faithfulness remains.

It is a timeless message! 🙏

We in the wish you a blessed Sunday when we remember Jesus walking on water.

"But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, 'It is a ghost!' And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.'" — Matthew 14:26-27
