Isaiah 43:1-7 (NKJV) But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. 4 Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. 5 Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, And gather you from the west; 6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth—7 Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”
This is God speaking of the people of Israel. They are God’s chosen people. God is making that very clear in these statements. You could not misunderstand what God is saying about the children of Israel. Not unless you deliberately want to misunderstand God. And for all who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, all who come to Jesus in repentance and acceptance, God makes them His children. Because they have believed in Jesus the only One by whom we are saved. God created man in His own image out of the dirt of the ground. Then God breathed into him the spirit of life and he became a human being. That first man, Adam, sinned against God. And Adam passed on to every generation a sin nature which will never be reformed. But God gives to all who will come to Jesus in repentance and acceptance a new nature which is in Christ. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are forgiven, and given a newness of life in Christ and eternal life. Out of Jacob, God created a nation. Then God redeemed His chosen people from Egypt, and they became the nation of Israel, a prince with God. The people of Israel belong to God because of redemption. Just as we are redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus has redemption power. These promises here in these verses are specifically for the people of Israel. But these promises also have a spiritual application for all who are God’s children through faith in Christ. God promises when we get into deep waters, so to speak, God will not let the waters overflow us. God intervenes and delivers us. Sometimes, God allows bad things to happen in our lives to teach us a spiritual lesson and to discipline us. But God will also judge the wicked who He uses to discipline us and to straighten out somethings in our lives. However, the wicked will not escape judgment. God will straighten them out as well. God loves the people of Israel, they are His children. God loves all who believes in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. God loves the children of Israel. And God loves all who are His children through faith in Christ. One day God will gather the children of Israel from all around the world back to Israel. One day Christ will gather all who are His by faith with a great shout like the trumpet of God, “Come up here!” We have God’s word on these promises.
God Bless and have a great day in God’s Word.
