If anyone is looking to “adopt” a local student for Christmas, you will find both Christmas Angels trees are up and filled with tickets. One tree is located in the narthex and the other tree is located in the lighthouse. If you have any questions please let Dawn Hawkins know. Everything is due back by Dec 10th.

Thank you for everyone that donated a back to school outfit and a backpack full of school supplies. We were able to help out students at 4 different schools this year. As school is opening back up we are getting some last minute requests from the school. Many thanks for contributions made to Confident Kids as we are able to provide for these students as well.

Would you like to support a local student by providing an outfit for the first day of school along with a backpack and some school supplies? We still have some tickets left to grab. Everything is due back by Aug 11th. If you have any questions please let me know.

Many thanks to the Green Turtle for hosting the Bikes for Tykes program for so many of our local students. The students received a lunch, made some crafts and then were surprised with a free bike and helmet. Each child was properly fitted with their new bike helmet. It was a wonderful day for the kids.

On Sunday, Dec 15th between 11-1pm at the Green Turtle in Waugh Chapel some of our students will be receiving a free bike. Please come out and join us as we surprise several kids with a free bike. It is going to be a wonderful day.

I have a family in need of help with school lunches. The mom is fighting cancer and the medical bills are very high. The family doesn’t qualify for free/reduced meals because the system does not take into account of the mom’s medical bills. Is anyone willing to help the student out with funds for school lunch?

Our Christmas Angel tree is up! Come support a local student for the holidays. All gifts are due by Dec 15th.

Since schools have started back we have had several requests from the schools for extra support. We had purchased a dance outfit for a homeless student that needed it for her class. We purchased a belt for another student. We have family that needed blankets to sleep with at night, shoes for their young son, clothes for their older son.

Without your support these students would not have these items. I am so happy that we can show these students that they are loved and important. We do care, they do matter. Thank you!

Wegman’s always continues to bless us with their generosity. Yesterday we received $4,000 worth of school supplies and $2500 worth of toiletries for our students! The employees bagged everything up individually. We received toiletry bags for boys and girls. These bags are a huge hit for the middle and high school students.
