🎶 Oh What a Night!

With over 76 people registered, we have launched into our summer session with these amazing people. With families, friends, and our chosen choir family - we are thrilled for all that is to come!

Shoutout to Zion Episcopal Church (our print sponsors) and Scott & Stephanie Seefeldt (and Ezra), for being our gracious hosts for our first two rehearsals this session including this week and then tenor/bass sectionals on June 8th, as the resurfacing at First Congregational UCC in Oconomowoc takes place.

We are so grateful to all the support of both congregations, churches, and their leadership of our !

Zion was pleased to host one of ninety "Community Conversations" occurring throughout the state as part of PBS Wisconsin's America@250 Initiative. The evening featured clips from the new Ken Burns documentary "The American Revolution", presentations from a retired ambassador and a local AP US history teacher, thought-provoking discussion questions, and ice-breakers that challenged our knowledge of the revolution. Thank you to Stephanie Seefeldt for facilitating the event, to those who provided hospitality, and to everyone from the community who attended!

Looking forward to welcoming you tonight! 6:30, Parish Hall.

Dear ones: today Zion joins the community and the country in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who died in heroic military service in defense of our nation. Originally called “Decoration Day”, Memorial Day was formalized in 1868; and the modern proclamation calls upon the people of the United States to observe Memorial Day by “praying, according to their individual religious faith, for permanent peace.” So today we honor with gratitude the sacrifice of those who died in the line of duty; and we recommit ourselves, inspired by their example, to the service of peace-making, following the example of our Lord.

Father Scott+

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP 839)
